What morphs for 300 or less at herp shows?
Well I'm heading to a herp show and was going to pick up a female or two. So I'm wondering what morphs this year are running 300 or less?
Thanks all

He's pretty much nailed it right there.
You can also get a Cinnamon Pastel or Black Pastel (produces same thing, different look, same price). You can also find maybe a Woma (or maybe it was Enchi?) for around that price, not an adult however.

I don't have any balls right now, I have made a commitment with a breeder for a female 100% het pied assuming the clutch hatches out and he gets them eating. We have two normal bci's pos 66% het albino, and 2 corn snakes left. I cut the corn snakes down to get into balls.

Do breeders ever showcase "dinkers"? As more of a pet owner for now...I wouldn't mind finding a cool normal...

Honestly I can't say I don't like any of them. If I would have to put them in order it would probably go spider, pin, lesser, pastel, mojave, I would say YB by itself doesn't really appeal to me that much but combined with pastel, I think they look great. I also of course like the super form Ivory. My biggest thing is trying to figure out what to get in females vs males next year. My wife really likes the queen bees so was kind of thinking that I should go down that route. So going with that let me know if my thoughts on how to get to it the fastest is correct.
Lesser, pastel female x spider male= lesser spider, pastel spider
lesser spider x pastel spider=chance at queen bee?
I think since this is just a hobby for us, that we both enjoy that I should aim toward a project that results in what she likes. I already have a project with pied planned out for myself. Let me know what you think very open to suggestions, and more experienced input.

Re: What morphs for 300 or less at herp shows?
You don't need two spiders to make a spider, so you could have a lesser/spider x pastel OR a lesser x bumblebee... etc.
It would be easier to find a bumblebee for sale, and a lesser female and when bred you'd have a CHANCE at a triple being hatched.
In order to get better odds, you could use super pastel, or of course a BEL, combined with spider to get the triple(lesser/pastel/spider). So a killer bee(superpastel/spider) combined with a lesser(or BEL) would have a higher chance at producing your Queen bee.

You should be able to get a sub adult yellow belly girl or a sub adult pastel girl in that price range.
Yellow belly crosses into anything nicely :)

Alright so I will definately be looking for a lesser female at the show. Then next year I will pick up a bumblebee, I think the chance will keep everything more interesting and kick the excitement and disapointment up a notch and keep us on our toes. I just hope I can find something at this show it's the first year they are holding it from my understanding.

Yep and lesser female THIS year, gives the female an additional year to grow, since males can be bred at a smaller size than females. Good plan!

Were not really in a hurry to start breeding. Our son leaves in a year and I finally get my snake room. My wife really likes watching them grow up and she likes to get to know their personalities before they get bigger to know exactly how to approach them. We have a corn snake that is VERY territorially, when you open her tank she starts to rattle. If you reach in your going to get tagged multiply times. So my wife knows that if she wants to hold her she uses the snake hook to get her out, then once she is out of her tank you can grab her and she is fine. Just the little quirks of the individual she likes to know before they are big.

I was going to get pairs but when I worked out getting my female for pied project, Gerry said I should get my females this year and males next. Which made perfect sense once he said it.

Re: What morphs for 300 or less at herp shows?
Absolutely, why feed a male for an additional year when you don't need to? Just grab one the following year and save all that rat money!

Re: What morphs for 300 or less at herp shows?
as i said ... good luck finding a lesser for under 400 ... let alone a female

I just found a partially stripe lesser female on fauna for 400 and that is with shipping. She's already sold but I've been hearing at shows you can get them cheaper.

Why would it matter who was selling it, the feed back he has on fauna is all good. He has a picture of said snake on there. So just because I'm a NEWB what makes him any different then say yourself?

Re: What morphs for 300 or less at herp shows?
tasseda, who was it that was selling it? i got banned from fauna for telling it like it is lol and calling people out on scamming lol

Re: What morphs for 300 or less at herp shows?
The infamous Capone.
Nothing against you Chaoticstone, but if you do a BOI search on him on fauna you will see why not many people like him. He probably (using the word lightly) single handedly destroyed the ball python market.

WOW, I was just looking at the trade rating, it was all positive. I didn't find all the negative stuff until i put in the name you wrote down. I was thinking that the BOI would have been linked to peoples profile.

they refuse to link any threads to profiles, with any website its up to the buyer to do the research on the seller (or vise versa). If there is someone i am unfamiliar with I always do a search on the BOI.

Well I had read about the BOI, just didn't realise that it was it's own section. So this whole time I had just been looking at peps profiles lol. Thanks for the heads up.
