    Dirty BEL's
Someone just telling me that 2 Lessers bred together will yield a pure white BEL while breeding 2 Mojaves will yield a BEL with a "dirty head". Is there any truth to this?

If so would that mean that a Lesser bred to a Mojave would give your BEL a 50% chance of being "Dirty"?

I disagree with the person who told you that a mojave BEL is "dirty". A mojave/mojave pairing produces a BEL with a white body and a head that is not all pristine white, but light to medium grey. The lesser/mojave usually takes on the characteristics of the lesser BELs in that the body is a bit whiter usually and the head does not usually have the classic grey head.

    Both are gorgeous snakes IMHO.

    Google "super mojave". Click images.

    Repeat with "super lesser".

    Compare.

I like Mojaves, but I like the super Lessers more than the super Mojaves. Idk what to pick for myself... Probably some of each....

    Hence the term; dirty.
Yes, super mojaves have a dirty head (not white) as compared to any of the other BEL combo animals.

Yeah, super mojos have a greyish/purplish head. I personally think its cool and is a little more interesting than just a plain white snake. I also like the pure white snakes as well though.

Yeah I don't mean "dirty" like there is anything wrong with them, I mean it just a term to describe the look. They are both beautiful snakes. I just didn't realize 2 different genes made different BEL's.

So if I bred a Lesser to a Mojave and got a BEL would it have a 50% chance of have a "dirty" head or would have a dirty head but a lighter one because of the lesser?

Any BELs from a mojo x lesser breeding are usually quite clean. Lessers and butters seem to clean up greying that you see in super mojave BELs. See pic a few posts above.

Mojaves, Lessers, Butters(?), and Russo hets can all combine and make BEL. I think the Mojave x Mojave crossing is the only one that makes one that's not so white.

I think it really boils down to what you want..if its genetics, I would go for the super with the genes I wanted, if its a pet then its just personal choice :)

    The word "Dirty"

I loved my lesserxrussp bel, the whitest snake out there. But, just about every morph ends up being all white... how often do they end up with an AWESOME purple head?!

I like them all, I plan to have them all. LOL Super fire also, now if I had to pick one I'd probably go super lesser.

funny is i heard the super mojo was a "wal-mart" lucy.... i dont think i agree but if i had to chose between the bels my choice would be a mojavexlesser one just because the super form being abled to produce both mojaves and lessers when u pair it up with another snake
