Shipping BPs....Need Help...
Ok, I'm wondering who's the easiest and best shipping co. to ship with?..I've heard SYR is not shipping right now, anyone else have decent prices and that do not require a license or whatever?...Wanna try to make it a "legal" shipping, I've heard of a few people shipping with out displaying any thing about there being a snake inside...
I have someone interested in shipping me TWO albino BPs .....and she needs info on shipping...
Thanks.

Re: Shipping BPs....Need Help...
With SYR service down
Their ONLY option is to be a CERTIFIED FedEx shipper of reptiles.
If their thinking they can ship you an animal any other way right now, turn it down.
The reason the SYR service is doen right now for snakes, is because people have done the wrong things with the service.
Shipping an animal any other way than through his FedEx account would only add to the fire.....
Not FedEx certifed? He ain't shipping anything

Well, that sucks...I am/maybe getting 2 albino BPs, for just the cost of shipping....I'd drive to pick em up, but D.C. is way to far to drive from FL..lol...Whats all entailed in getting certified?..How long does it take?...Eh, I'll search it....

Re: Shipping BPs....Need Help...
Hi,
2 albinos just for the cost of shipping? :O
Exactly how certain are you this is on the level?
I just have a hard time getting my head around someone giving up $900.
Do they want to send you extra cash or pay via western union or anything? :ninja:

Re: Shipping BPs....Need Help...
No, actually she was just wanting to find them good homes...I told her she can ship them to me and I'll pay the shipping....but she didnt want to ship without getting the $$ up front to pay it..lol...Im not gonna send shipping $$ and her back out and collect 60-70$$..lol...So I told her to find someone local or put them in the paper...She's in the DC area I believe....
Ohwell, someone will end up getting them and hopefully take good care of them...

Re: Shipping BPs....Need Help...
All aside for the scamming, another legal option exists for shipping reptiles, but it is expensive and also requires approval and some driving. You can ship non-venimous snakes through Delta express. (I think it is their air cargo group.) This is also the only way you can ship animals that our over 4" in girth or 5' long, even when shipyourreptiles was shipping snakes they had those size restrictions.

Just a bit of clarification here, although it doesn't really pertain to this thread. Delta Dash will actually ship any size snake, and it can be venomous. Last time I was there shipping some snake, there was a gentlemen there receiving a group of spitting cobras. Delta will ship an Elephant if you can get it in a crate. As well as crocs, gators, explosives, just about anything.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't think Delta Dash took them, but I have never tried and don't know anyone that has told me they did. I do know they will take a 20'+ long retic if packaged per their requirements. Only thing is it costs 2 arms and 3 legs. :(

Re: Shipping BPs....Need Help...
Fed Ex:
Requires a box check. You send them a sample box, packed exactly the way it would be if you were shipping a reptile. They approve it, then you fill out some paperwork and get a shipping waiver. (That's the way it's supposed to work--I haven't got my waiver yet, but that's another story).
Delta:
Requires a facility check. You will have to pay a small fee, and someone will come out and inspect your reptile facility/room. If all is well, they will approve you to ship reptiles using their service.
Fed Ex's prices are lower than Delta's for small animals and small orders. Delta Dash can be more economical for large animals, or large number of animals that take up more space (IE, larger packages).
Fed Ex will only deliver reptiles business to business. If you don't have a business address to ship to, it would be wise to send the package to the Fed Ex hub close to your buyer, and have it held there for pickup.
Delta ships airport to airport--you drop the animals off at your airport, and your buyer picks them up at their airport.
