How Often Does Everyone Feed?

I've been keeping my bps on a weekly feeding schedule since I rescued her. I don't have a scale, but she seems to be getting really heavy and much stronger. My male doesn't eat as often as she does, I think she would eat every day if I gave her the chance.

My question is how often do you guys feed a healthy adult?

I offered everyone a meal weekly. They can take it or leave it.

Under 500g, every 5 days

I feed my snakes that are under a year old every five days, my adults are every seven days. If you have no intention in breeding you can feed every ten days, but if they go off feed, start them at a seven day schedule again. Then when they plump back up, you can go back to every 10 days.

I feed every 10 days, depending on the availablity of frozen rats...

About every 10 days for the boys, 'cept the Kingsnake. He gets a mouse every 6-7 days.

Every 7-10 days for everyone except hatchlings, and the burm.
Our burm gets fed once every 20 days, and the hatchlings get food every 5.

I feed every 7 and my snakes are only between 100-200g, I figure that it is a very easy schedule for them to stay on and very easy for me to keep track of.

Thanks for all the responses. I have no intention on breeding her this year, I may next season if I have a rack built... And if I can find a decent fridge to make an incubator. So I'm going to bring her down to a 10 day feeding schedule instead of 7.

I feed every 5 days until they hit 500 grams then go to a 7 day feeding!

I actually feed based off of attitude and how much the snakes want to eat, I use vyper software and i have set a scedual for each individual which range from every 4 days to every 12 days, so it really all depends on a personal experiance and opinion.

I have all adults - smallest one is 1200g. Every week is the easiest way to remember the schedule. So, if my husband is doing the feeding they get fed on friday night. But, the kids go by their calendar stuck to the wall, so if they are doing the feeding they get fed every 10 days because the kids insist that that's the "proper" feeding schedule. Buncha know-it-alls.

I feed every Sunday..If they are in shed ,I wait till the next week..

I feed every Tuesday. Finally have all seven on live rats and was able to feed off my entire mouse colony.

Adults over 1000g- 7days
sub adults under 1000g- 5 days
Hatchlings - 2-3 days

Under 6 months - every 3 days
Over that - every 7

Every 7 days for the adults, I have a few 2000 plus females that will take every 12 to 14 but they take some big rats. I have 4 that are on mice, the male butter and lemonblast are in the 500 gram range and I offer 2 a week as the mice are usaully around 25 grams. My 07 male pastel also takes mice and eats like a garbage disposal and would probably eat everyday if I let him, he is my best eater just weighed him tonight at 926. The other mouse eater is my 08 female pastel, she is just under 1100. she typically takes one every 2 to 3 days.

Also I have noticed that if I start feeding too often or too large their stools will be a bit runny, and if this happens I adjust accordingly.

I feed my BP's weekly.

I feed my baby balls 2-3 times a week as much as they want my boas eat twice a week salmon is about 3.5' was comin out of shed today ate a large small rat which he shed just after eating... Then he had 3 small mice. He will Polly eat again wed or thurs.

Every 5-7 days. Usually based on prey size. My snake is 550g right now. 5 Day feeding for 40-50g rats. 7 Day feeding for 60+g rats. As the snake gets bigger, so does the feeding scale. This method seems to be working great. Gained 190g in almost 40 days. He loves to eat right now.

I feed every day ending with a 3....3rd, 13th, 23rd, easy to remember.

I feed as often as they they are hungry :P

Thats not enough 3 times a month is not going to cut it for growing babies and or breeding females.

You must have me confused with someone else :D Mine is over 3 years old and over 4 feet long eating medium rats, works out to be about every 10 days...11 days depending on if there are 30 or 31 days in the month.

I feed every 7-10 days with all my snakes.

Every two weeks, because my mom doesn't want him to eat too much and get too big. :rolleye2:

Anything under 1,000 I offer 2-3 meals a week. 1,000+ I offer 2 times a week but some only take 1 per week.

I breed all my own food so if they don't take it, back in the bin they go for a couple days. When I used to buy live or F/T, I wouldn't offer as much just because it pissed me off when they wouldn't eat it. Live rats and mice stink to keep around, and I never re-freeze a rodent so it would be thrown out. Thank god for ASF's:banana:

So every 3 days for a hatchling is okay?? It won't be like power feeding?? Just curious as I'd probably start that for my hatchling.

I used to feed strictly every 7 days, now I go more off of what my animals need:

Less than 500g- still every 7 days unless in shed

My spider girl (750+g yearling) gets fed as I see fit. Sometimes it's two-three weeks in a row and I'll skip a week if she is looking really chunky. She is still growing very rapidly, 60-100g a month.

I used to feed my adult normal male every week, now it's every 2-4 weeks based on how he is looking. He maintains weight very well and gets quite fat if fed every week.

My big normal girl I feed every 7 days, she is a thinner bodied snake in general and seems to require more food.

I feed my 4yr old girl every 2 weeks tried feeding her after a week a couple of times and she wasn't interested. Maybe I could get her to eat every 10 days but she seems happy with every 2 weeks.

One sm/med rat every 2-4 weeks, depending on the snake. (Picky eaters get fed more often, as they don't eat as much.) But then again all of my BPs are 3 year + females and in good health.

Depends on who you ask. Feedings every 3 days would be considered power feeding to many people. Whether or not it's appropriate to power feed ball pythons is the topic of many threads here on the forums.

I've been going with a 5 day thing, so I think I'm going to stick with it.

I feed my BP every 5 days cause he is like 3 months old but once he gets older I'll start feeding weekly I don't want an obese BP. =)

I don't give hatchlings huge meals. Rat pups or small mice work great for the first few months. I like to do 2-3 smaller meals rather than 1 huge meal. I've been doing it for a few years now and it works great for me.

I feed adult females every 7 days, adult males every 10-14 days, and anything under a year old every 5 days.

I feed my girl every 4 - 6 days, shes a hair over a year old and is currently at about 550g. I feel like she'd eat every day if I let her... she's a pig! Though she just doesn't put on weight like I'd expect.

I feed my bigger Boas every 14 days and my smaller Boas and balls. ( all well over a year old ) every 10 days.
