    Just a Cool Normal? -DUW-
So...summertime allows a student like me plenty of time to waste on Craigslist....

This female is being sold on there, and I just wanted BP.net's opinions on her. According to the seller, he says she's actually going into shed and is even brighter than what the photos show.

He claims the Pet Bazaar he bought them from told him she was a morph, a red-stripe ball python...googling the red stripe, i definitely see similarities, but still not sure it's not just a pretty normal...

Either way, her looks definitely do it for me, and If I can make the right deal I might bite. If not at least you all get to see some cool pictures right?:rolleye2:

Stumbled across this as well, dinkers who look very similar to her

She's cool looking. I've seen dinkers with a stripe like that, I don't know if they've been proved out. Either way, at least you would have a nice looking female normal!

To be honest, I highly doubt I'd ever breed...so it's mostly just about looks for me, hence my search for a really cool normal female. And who knows, maybe one day I'd let Wyatt have some fun :snake::banana:

She looks like what people call a Harlequin.

But so far has not been proven genetic.

    She's very pretty though!

Now if she is just a dinker, what's the pricing on a female dinker like her? What would you all spend? Thanks for all the opinions and advice!

Good thing she's a girl. I'll definitely get her and try to play w/ her genes. Looks like a classic example of a harlequin, though they are not yet 100% proven to be genetic. Lovin the hooks! Im always attracted to normals that looks somehow different and shows those hooks! :)

From what Ive seen <and Ive been dinker hunting for a couple weeks now>
prices are really up to the parties involved. What the seller wants to part with a potential project and what the buyer thinks the gamble is worth paying for.

    I've seen prices from $250 to 2k.

That said, personally Im not in a position to gamble 2k, though I know you said youre just looking for a pet. Around $200 would be worth it to me as a safe side project. Though if youre just getting it as a pet, Id be more concerned with the health of the animal judging the price.

I encourage someone else with more dinker buying experience to give their experience/opinion.

Nice, I'd pick her up in a heartbeat if she was on my CL. Unfortunately nothing that cool pops up on mine :( She'd go good with my dinker boy from David Fernandez.

Dinkers should be priced as normals IMO, because they are unproven.

I might pay 60 for a good dinker, but not 250. Not unless she was a LOT bigger than she is right now.

Hey OP, is see your in/around Tampa....I went and seen a few "dinkers", one of which IS a female...If your interested, pm me...I might be able to pick it up for you...It KINDA looks like my male in my gallery, reduced patterns, little to no alien heads, black back thing going on, and some "tracks" going along the sides of the body...I'm looking for a female aswell, but older. These are fresh off tha boat..lol...around 50grams...

I found 2 that really caught my eye...One was a male and the other Im 95% positive was a female, I popped, no penes....I know, they'll be there tomorrow....I have a few deals im working on...If your interested PM me..

    Thanks

Oh yikes, I wouldn't pay $250. I probably wouldn't pay much more than $50 for her. Like someone else said, if she was a lot bigger, breeding weight, $250 would be acceptable.

She's definitely a dinker, but if he doesn't have proof that she's genetic or het for something, she shouldn't be much more than the price of a normal.

Yea, the main issue with the Tampa or Gainesville Craigslist's mostly are full of people who think that:

    A) A normal baby ball python is worth $150
    B) Any sort of morph is worth $500+, even tiny spiders or pastels simply because the major pet chain they bought them from ripped them off.
    C) "Rehoming fee's" are usually more than Kingsnake or Fauna prices, such as a Pied last week for $2,500

    HaHaHa, thats very true...

    A) I know of a few people selling for less then $40 a piece.
    B) Yeah, most are "noObs" and think they have a "rare" morph thats so hard to find..lol.
C).....Yeah, people love using the "rehoming fee" line to try and get a higher $$ amount...:colbert:
