Re: new incubator project
I been looking for one for awhile, good find.
Re: new incubator project
Nice pick up, those work awesome...:gj:
Our coke true cooler we picked up.
I have another one that is the size of yours for next year :)
Our holds within 1 degree at all times sitting in a closet in the middle of the house.

*I switched to 6 qt tubs, didn't feel these were large enough*
Re: new incubator project
I would love to have one of these for use as an incubator. Congrats on the great find!
Re: new incubator project
thanks everyone i have been looking forever for one how much heat tape should i throw in that i have made 1 small one out of a wine cooler which is what my eggs are in now and i only used 2 foot of 11" heat tape but this is so much bigger than that
Re: new incubator project
We have 30 inches or flexwatt in the back of this one.
The larger one I have that looks like it is the same height as yours I will put 30 inches or so on each side when I get it up and going for next season.
Re: new incubator project
That's going to be awesome. Good pick-up. :gj:

A good rule of thumb is use 1ft of 11" flexwatt per 1cu ft of space.

its more than that i think its length x widthx height and then divide by 1728
Re: new incubator project
ok so its 25 cubic feet so i need to put 25 foot of heat tape in it i am going to use 11 inch so i can use a little less right
Re: new incubator project
Re: new incubator project
I'm not positive on the exact measurements of that cooler but I am going to be using two 36 inch strips of flexwatt,
one strip on each side, in my other incubator next year.
It' measures 54 tall inside, 23 wide and 24 deep.
That should easily keep good temps without over working the t-stat.
Re: new incubator project
mine is 25" long 27"wide and 62" tall so about the same then

Yeah, pretty close.
My smaller coke cooler is 35 X 21 X 19 and has only 30 inches of heat tape
and does very well keeping 88 to 89 degrees.
My herpstat is set at 93.7 to get those temps inside the tub.
Re: new incubator project
ok thanks man so how do u like your herpstat im going to be buying one soon

Rock solid.
