Wat BP do you value the most
I was just wondering what BP in your collection do you value the most. Like If I had a Pied ball or BEL it would become a Favorite snake that wouldnt be for sale no matter what. So whats your favorie snake you have in your collection? For me tho My spider Is my Favorite.

Re: Wat BP do you value the most
As of right now my normal male. He was the first ball python i ever got so has a lot of emotions tied to him, doubt i could ever get rid of him.

Re: Wat BP do you value the most
Value! I suppose my big 2008 pied female and my 2007 hypothetical het lav girl are the most valuable, since all my hopes for actually breeding next year depend on them.
But deep down, my grumpy, anorexic, almost-worthless het pied boy is still my favorite, because he was first. And my slightly-retarded, super-sweet black pastel male after that, because he's just plain lovable.

Re: Wat BP do you value the most
The only normal male in my collection.

The only one I have, even though he is currently having a FecalFest in his tub, that I just cleaned yesterday. Gotta love it...

Re: Wat BP do you value the most
Two that are tied in value.
A normal female, my first gal. And her Bumblebee daughter, who was my favorite the second she popped out of the egg.:)
Money is never a matter when it comes to which I favor/value most.

Re: Wat BP do you value the most
That's a question that gets tuffer as you start producing your own stuff. I have 22 balls at the moment, my first norm female is at the top of the list after her I'd have to say my ivory cause of his story.

I agree with this completely. If for some reason I had to cut my collection down I would probably still have at least 25 ball pythons. Mona Lisa (normal) is my first and she has my heart, but Bertha(normal) is the biggest ball I have personally seen and she has such a laid back personality, Lucky is the first ball that laid eggs for us so she has sentimental value of more than the average breeder normal. Then theirs Jacki our pastel axanthic we produced in 2008, and the pied pair we just got....the list goes on and on and I think that makes it hard for me. We have been breeding balls for about 4 years now and alot of our animals we personally produced or we worked our tails off to be able to purchase. I think I get more attatched also because they are not numbers to me(even though I would like to one day make a profit at breeding them :)). Everyone gets a name and most of the animals I can look at them and tell you their names.
So to get back to the origonal question I really think that at least 1/2 of my breeders would end up as keepers.

Re: Wat BP do you value the most
I only have 1... But I wouldnt trade Apollo for the world.
He has such a curious personality, and I dont care what people say as he loves me :D. He hides all day till he "hears" my voice near his tank, then he comes to the glass and licks where my face is. Sometimes after that he will climb up the branch to the top of the tank waiting for me to take him out.
If during that time I open the tank and rest my hand flat on the log, he will climb into it my hand and ball up while looking up at me like "Ok, i am ready to be played with".
Wishful thinking perhaps.. But he has done it 3 times now and I have only had him 2 months.
Once again, potential wishful thinking :D

Charlie, our first (the second time around). He's sweet and patient, very calm, very content, and a great eater.
The fiance's favorite is his pastel, Superman.
Then there's Lucy, our crabby brat. She's our first rescue so the fiance' holds her in a special place. Me... I tolerate her :)

Re: Wat BP do you value the most
that's kinda a tough question for me right now. everytime i handle one i always say "this one is my favorite", my wife says i confuse her. LOL

Re: Wat BP do you value the most
I have to say, personality wise, Ghost, my axanthic ball python is my favorite. He's got a wonderful personality, isn't head shy, a good eater, etc. He's the perfect example of a ball python, and he is my first ball python. However, I love Lucy, she's SUPER picky and it makes me upset sometimes. She seems to only eat live and I've NEVER seen her eat a white mouse, she eats the black ones... But, I know she's just a really REALLY silly snake, and I love her regardless.

Re: Wat BP do you value the most
I would have to say that my big male normal is by far my most favorite snake. He is just too awesome to put a price on.
-
Re: Wat BP do you value the most
Since I only have one its hard to answer! LOL But I imagine the one I have will always mean the most to me since it was my first!

My first bp ever, my only normal, Julius is my baby. I couldn't get rid of him no matter how useless breeding he is. All of my bps are my pets but he is by far my favorite. I love him to pieces <3
-
I don't know about most valued but a BP I'm really excited about is my Albino Spider and his upcoming role in my Albino project:http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/file...3/dsc_0362.jpg

Wow, that is really really difficult.
I have to say, $$ value has nothing to do with it at all.
Its just that every time I have one out and admire her or him, I think to myself just how much I love THAT one.
But then I take another one out and I'm blown away how much I care for THIS one. LOL
Maya has a special place in my heart though. She re-started my BP addiction and she really is a great girl. She is so calm and curious and a great eater. She is also the only one that will look up into my face and literally stare at me for a long time. Very strange. Its not that tense "I'm gonna get you" stare. Just a calm relaxed snake looking at me, straight in the eyes, for a long time.
What I wouldn't give to know what (if anything) is going on in her little brain at this time.
After looking at me she usually likes to settle herself into a comfortable spot in my lap and proceed to go to sleep. She never acts stressed out.
But really, I love them all.
This time around I am trying to keep the collection small and manageable for this very reason, I like to really spend quality time observing each and every one.
Of course, once there will be babies, oh boy.It will be very difficult because I have a hard time letting go, LOL.

Re: Wat BP do you value the most
My Albino. She was my first and she doesnt act like any of my others. She is super calm and sweet. Like you know how when you change out your cage or refill the water bowl, you have to watch yourself because you may get bit? Its not like that with her. She lets me rub under her mouth and she'll even stick her head up for me to do it...... People say snakes dont care about stuff like that so how do you explain it?
-
Can't choose....lol. Every one I take out is my favorite. The huge reduced pattern blackback female, because she is so laid back and eats like a burm.......or the big female pastel het clown, whose color and personality blow me away........or the pastel male, who just looks better and better with each shed, or the new baby het clown, cause he's so little and cute and has a huge attitude. I love them all. It's like your children......you love them all just the same, for different reasons, but no one is a favorite, because they're all favorites:)

My favorite ball python is my male pied. I have spent so much time with him I couldn't imagine getting rid of him.. He is by far my favorite.....:D

I only have two, both normals and I love them both to death, but at this point I could never part with Slevin my first bp.
