11 Days To Go ... Is She Gravid?
So all season long this wonderful gal was with my male bumblebee, but I never witnessed any locks anytime I checked in one them.

I keep second-guessing myself on if she is or not, hence why i'm posting this.

I got them home from moving back to my parents, put my male bee back in with her & he was all over her but she refused, noticed an Ovulation, threw him back in ... Again didn't notice a single thing! She just finished having a shed, refusing food & keeps going up and down in weight... We think we've felt 5 follicles in her but are unsure since she doesn't want to stay still & moves whatever is inside her around.

We've got 11 more days till she "COULD" Drop any eggs if the male bee got to her since he was producing sperm plugs.

I took these pictures Yesterday of her; she keeps pushing all the shavings aside & is always on the warm side of the bin. She has been VERY Kinked up these last few days but isn't so much in these pictures. Also her tail is very flat & thinned out * See picture *

Anyone think that she could drop some pearly whites in 11 days?

Picture of her tail, its hard to tell & see what i'm talking about, but its there if you look hard enough.

I would say dont stress about the numbers, 30 days could be 40-45,50 its hard and anticipated but shell go when she'll go, right? I would tend to say she needs more time. . . lumpy like that shes probaly building follicles. Look for the glow  anyways shes on her way . . . congrats

Prepare for the best, meaning have your incubator standing by.
Don't hope for best either though, looks like she's still building to me. But she may have a few small eggs hidden somewhere in there, sometimes they can hide.

Good luck, and hope she's going to give you some new additions soon.;)

Go with bills bet - put your boy back with her (she'll tell you when shes done for the year) your boy will be getting the snub. If shes building follicles- now would be good timing ... if shes adjusting eggs she'll push your boy to the side.

Do you have a picture of that ovulation? If she did ovulate you are going to get eggs.

I Don't actually! I Wish i had my camera when she did have the Ovulation..
I kinda was Excited to see it, So that same day that she had the Ovulation, i threw my male Bee back in with her for a few days.

    Then took him out again.

She was fairly big in her lower mid section & i know 100% it was an Ovulation

I agree with letting your bee have another night on the town with her. They'll do what's natural.
If not this year, next breeding season is only 5 or 6 months away.

Thanks Jason! I'll make sure the bee goes right back in with her and see what happens over the next few days! & Your right, if she doesn't go now then she'll go when the next season is upon us!

    Thanks!

Good signs when she's refusing the male, not eating, chilling on the warm end, and curled up tightly. You may have a chance from the things you stated, so don't get your hopes too down but don't get them too up. Sometimes people won't notice a lock, but hey, things can happen.

Keep checking up on her, look for signs, and hope for the best. :gj:

True CoolioTiffany, Hopefully something did happen when they were together & I'm hoping all the signs she is giving me are right, But just to make sure i'll put the bee back with her.

I'm gonna * cross my fingers! * lol If nothing happens, like everyone says next season is only 5-6 months away! Don't know if i can wait that long, but Hey! I'm gonna have too...

Male Bee was found curled ontop of my female this morning.... No signs of any locking but he seems to be very tired...

Don't know if they did stuff during the night or not, but he is laying on her right now
