VPI Axanthic pinstipes v's VPI Axanthic bumble bees
Ideally in the future ( probably a 5 year project) I want to try for Killer Axanthic spinners..to get the ball rolling next season I can either pair up my Axanthic female with a bumblebee or a pinstripe..I will also be looking to pair up for killerbee's & lemon blasts..Either option gives good results but would appreciate opinions! Thanks for looking

Re: VPI Axanthic pinstipes v's VPI Axanthic bumble bees
This year I ran:
Cinnamon x VPI Axanthic
Pastel x VPI Axanthic
Pinstripe x VPI Axanthic
Spider x VPI Axanthic
BHB Clown x VPI Axanthic
Mojave x VPI Axanthic
That way I will have all those hets to work with and I can pair the Co-dom Hets x Co-Dom hets to get some awesome Axanthic combos. . . It's an awesome project as I love axanthics, good luck!

Everything takes time, I was a begginer at one point aswell! ;) . . . still consider myself a beginner when I see some of the collections out there, but I like working with what I like to look at, and the clown and axanthics are up there for me. I do have a few side things goin on with the Orange line and Diesels but everything else is personal preference for me not so much whats goin to make tons of money. . . if i didn't have bills to pay I'd be keeping them all!!!
Good luck with your projects!

Thanks! Well I wont be getting any Clowns any time soon since they are so expensive, But in any way I'm on the small time hobbyist side, not the breeder side. Good luck with your Axanthic Clown! :D
I would add a pied to the Axanthic project if I had the resources, also a Calico/Sugar. But I'm happy with Pastel, Spider and Fires as starting points.

Pied Axanthic Clowns are on the very top of my list for must have morphs, but I didnt want to jump there before I made the double het clown axanthics ;)

Well Ideally from all those pairings Id like to keep a 1.2 of each aside from the double het clown axanthic, I might get a little greedy with that pairing. I might just keep a Male co-dom(any of the ones listed) het for axanthic and keep a female co-dom het axanthic from every pairing and run that male through every morphs female. But even a 1.1 co-dom Het axanthic from each again if the odds are there. That way I can make super axanthics of each morph. . . It all depends on what hatches, I dont like to count my snakes before they hatch ;)

You have some great pairing going on there. I would recommend, however, keeping 2 males from any Double Recessive project as a back up. I produced double het Axanthic Pieds last year, and kept 2.2 from the breeding. You never know whne one of those males gets pene issues, or just doesn't want to breed until he is 3 or 4 years old. Just a suggestion.
p.s. My proven breeder DH True ghost male decided that he didn't want to breed this year, until about 2 weeks ago. My DH True Ghost female (also a proven breeder) was developing nicely, and I had starting getting thoughts of throwing something Hypo or Axanthic in there with her just to not loose a potential clutch. I bought this pair, as oppossed to producing them, so was only fortunate enough to get a pair. Sometimes having that back-up male is a blessing.
Just my .02,

Just my .02,
That is a great idea, thanks for the suggestion, Ideally I would like to keep all the double hets from that pairing ;)
