tough times...tough decisions

I have not been on the forums now for some time. I hit a rough spot in my life and I had to make a few decisions. One of those decisions was to rehome my snakes. I am struggling financially right now and I really didn't want to put my snakes through the ringer so I made sure they went to a very good home. I gave them to a friend of mine that has a collection of 31 ball pythons. I miss those snakes so much! I have decided to step out of the hobby for a little while unitl I can get things straightened out in my life. I will still be here on the forums learning from all of you as I have in the past. There is a lot going on in my life besides just financial issues but I won't bore all of you with the details. I will never give up on having ball pythons again, it's just that right now is really not a good time for keeping them.

The best thing to do in these situations is to find a good friend or family member who can take them in, and possibly give you the opportunity to reclaim them once again in the future once things settle, so I think you made the right choice.

I can relate somewhat. I sold all but one of my snakes (had about 30 at one time, when I was breeding) for financial and moving reasons. Maybe eventually you can get back into the game; there is hope, as now I am in the position to buy more snakes. It seems to me that you did the right thing for everyone involved; it was a mature decision on your part.

If you did what was best for your snakes, you are a good person. Far too many times, people will only think of themselves when it comes to their pets. The pets suffer, but somehow the owner doesn't recognize that, and think everything is okay.
