    Seru Talks Candy
So I was sitting here trying not to worry about going under the knife tomorrow for my sinuses when I thought, why not talk about something that always gives everyone a smile.

    CANDY!

I mean seriously you ain't ever to old. So in the spirit of my frozen food top 5 here's my top 5 favorite candies.

    5. Zero Bar

So tasty it had it's own song from the Kings of Junk Rock who's name I'm probably not allowed to type. White fudge around nutty caramel goodness. This thing will widen your horizons from simple snickers.

I would someday like to get a picture of a BEL wrapped around a King size zero bar. and someday when I find a BEL....Gonna name it Zero.

    4. Life Savers

Pocket sized packs of fruit splosions. 5 Flavors, Butterscotch, Wild Cherry, and berry. Even tropical at times. It can be hard to find the non five flavors but soooo worth it.

    3. Skittles

Probably the reason I may one day develop diabetes. What is there to say about skittles other than yum? I gotta say the only bummer is sometimes you get a tooth cracking pectin rock in a bag that makes your dentist richer.

    2. Nerds

Sweet tangy and crunchy. If only there were more flavors! All this nerd rope, and giant nerd and soft nerd stuff doesn't cut it for me. I like the classic candy. The movie box of nerds is always in my hand for a cinematic masterpiece.

    1. Dum Dum Pops

In My opinion the best, most diverse candy ever. And they are free at many banks and Medical offices. Why don't more adults take them? Is it a fear of rocking? I dunno. There is a dum dum flavor for everyone. And mine is Mango. I mean heck you can even vote on new flavors every year, I am hoping for Pumpkin or Blueberry.

So thats my list? How bout yours?

Seru, I am about to reveal my true age..... I remember when they first came out with Nerds..:O ...and the first day I ever bought a box as a kid. But, my fave all time, hard-to-find candy, is Peanut Butter Twix. I even named a snake after it. Sadly, she is no longer with me, but perhaps another Twix is in the future....:D I like to eat it in layers....first the chocolate top, then the pnut butter, then the cookie. O-M-G.

P.S....Do you remeber when they made lifesavers "holes"? Tiny, lifesaver "dots". I loved them things. And I loved the package they came in too......

I have the WORST taste buds in the entire world I think. I do not like candy. I do not like soda. I do not like cake or ice cream. I do not eat cereal unless it is like plain cheerios or plain rice crispies or plain grape nuts. Because most cereals are fruity flavored which I don't like or sweet from the added sugar. The only two things I EVER drink is milk and water. And it is plain milk because I do not like chocolate or strawberry :rolleye2:

We are super similar. However, I do like chocolate, but nothing else. I only drink water or milk- plain or chocolate, soda is disgusting to me. Cereal really is not my thing, I usually eat granola bars for breakfast. I hate all other candy, except chocolate, and I mean it has to be real chocolate, I don't even like candy if it is chocolate flavored.

    1 Hershey Bars
    2 Reese Peanut Butter Cups
    3 Original Twix
    4 Peanut Butter Twix
5 Home- made Chocolate Cake- I hate store bought cakes.

I don't like the fact that I have to eat and drink pretty much the same things over and over again. I would like to be able to switch things up. There is a TON of stuff I do not like. Ketchup, pizza, seafood, syrup, chewing gum, spicy foods, most fruits and veggies and the list goes on and on and on. My wife and kids love it because I never eat any of their junk food.

I love gourmet gummy bears or worms! Not the junky kind, that just tastes like sugar, but the kind where clear is pineapple, red is cherry, yellow is lemon etc. Also Strawberry "licorice". No chocolate, or other sweets really. And tea with honey, not soda!:)

I would kill to have that diet. Seriously. Although... I love my cereal. But, at least I do good and eat Special K with Strawberries.

#1: Snickers... My mom would bring me them when she used to bartend. I eat them in layers :)
    #2: 100 Grand bars. Yummy.
    #3: Jelly Beans!
#4: Skor Bars. My mom used to hide them, so it always felt special when I was able to have them!
#5: Reeses Peanut Butter cups, I'll eat those in layers as well.

Dark M&M's. Those things are like legal crack.

I dont really like cereal either, I buy cocoa puffs to eat mostly as dry snacks. I do like chocolate, strong chocolate. I dont like flavored milk either, unless coffee counts :)

    Starburst sour jellybeans
Lindt extra creamy milk choclate bars
    Cadbury eggs
    Reeses cups
    Hershey's hugs or cherry kisses.

I'm a big chocolate fan, but I've gotten into the smooth milk chocolates, not hershey bars. I don't usually like hard things, especially in my candy. I'm a massive sugar eater though. Probably why I'm overweight. I've cut my soda waaay back though, to about one soda a week or less. Normally it's iced sweet tea, and crangrape juice as my mainstays.. with Tang or coolaid type drinks the rest of the time.

Now this is a thread I like :)

I'm a candy lover with an insatiable sweet tooth.

One of my favorite places is a souvenir shop called the Alaska Wildberry Company. They specialize in chocolates with berry jelly centers.

They even have their own true-to-life chocolate waterfall.
    http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/4...84original.jpg

In winter of 08/09, I spent some time learning to make homemade candies. I did chocolates, truffles, taffy, and hard candies. I want to get a good recipe for starbursts-texture candies, chewy but harder than taffies. I could even go all the way and hard-coat them like skittles.

Making hard candies is my favorite. Because it was winter time, we did pulled-candy, the traditional technique of ribbon-candy and candycanes. It's also the same technique for the candy that makes up the outer shell of tootsie pops, and is how the tootsie pop coating gets its unique textured look.

We're lucky to have a cake shop that also carries various oil flavors that I can use in my candy making.

I actually haven't made any recently, but this thread has inspired me to perhaps make up a batch this weekend.

    Re: Seru Talks Candy
    1. Reese's peanut butter cups "Big Cup"
    2. Watchamacallit
    3. Chocolate truffles (any candy shop has them).
    4. Caramello
    5. Marathon Bar *

*This is NOT the modern Snickers Marathon. This candy is, sadly, discontinued and will never be seen again. It was a long braid of thick, chewy caramel covered in chocolate. The chocolate coating would crumble and fall off messily as you stretched the caramel while you ate it. It was awesome.

Not to take you back to the sinus thing, but, I have had two sinus surgerys already. You will be just fine. The make you sign the disclaimer for legal reason but the procedure is pretty safe all around. It's not to painful and the healing is pretty quick. Just tell them you are nervous before the surgery and they will give you a bit of medicine to help you.;) Hope all goes well and keep us posted.

Aside from having the worst sore throat I have ever had and a huge desire I can't fufill to blow my nose I'm okay. I'm mostly eating cheese grits, yogurt, and mashed potatos to soothe my throat.

But the surgery went smooth, they removed a cyst and a polyp. And I've mostly been in bed watching looney tunes and passing out now and then cause the pain pills are effective.

    thanks for the concern :)
