Nervous as hell...

...the time has finally arrived...almost. After a year of intense research and revising, I will be presenting my thesis project. I present tomorrow [Thurs] @9am. I have 10-15 minutes to pitch an idea which I have invested a years-worth of work in. Following my presentation...those in attendance, department faculty and professionals in practice, have 40 minutes to rip me a new one. Regardless...I don't think I will be sleeping much tonight.

I feel like I am worthless with this sort of stuff as I have never been in the same position, but I can only say that if you keep you mind away from "OMG MY FUTURE!" and face it head on knowing that you are more than preparred for this test, you will be fine.

I just saw this congrats!!! Yea!!! Did you breath a huge sigh of relief when it was all done. Or now do you feel like....ahhhhhh ...ok...what am I suppose to do now? lol

So what was it on?

It was pretty anticlimactic...a roller coaster of emotions. Before I let the first word slip between my lips, I questioned whether I would make it thru my presentation without passing out. All went well...an applause...and that was IT. I don't know what I was expecting...but after abusing my liver for the past 24 hours with my colleagues...I am not the only one who felt the "that's all?" once the presentation was finished.

Regarding the topic, since I am in a design-field, our thesis doesn't consist of an exhaustive research paper, rather a research project supplemented with visual design plans, section-elevations, details, perspectives... My project focused on a 13-acre floodplain adjacent to the Kansas River in Lawrence, Kansas. I was essentially dealing with stormwater mitigation within a floodplain woven into the urban fabric. The title of my project was, Activating the Fluvial Edge.

Not yet unfortunately...one of these days I would like to learn Flash or something to make a nice online portfolio...someday. :)
