My Albino Boa Had Babies!

My albino female had 18 babies on 5-1-10. This was very unexpected. I put my male double het sunglow in with her during the winter breeding season, but never witnessed copulation. She did seem to get very large, but started eating again, so I figured she was not gravid. This is my first time breeding boas, so I was not really sure what to expect. Anyways, I checked on her yesterday, and to my surprise she had just given birth. My business partner and I are pretty ecstatic.

quick question since that is a suriname and a bino do you get regulars as well with that clutch or no

Neither of them are Suriname boas. The male is a salmon het albino. Both are BCI. The clutch consisted of sunglows, albinos, double het sunglows (salmon het albinos), and het albinos.

Thanks to everyone that has posted. I am in Europe, but will definately post updated pics when I get back home. My business partner is taking care of them, and told me that 15 of have shed. I will try to post pics of them on Tuesday of next week.

Yup, lots of reptiles will give birth to live young. All boas do, as well as reptiles as different from each other as garter snakes, Rattle snakes and Blue tongue skinks. Reptiles are pretty fascinating creatures.

I needed some baby snakes as a pick-me-up today, they're all beautiful.

Thanks everyone! Yes, we are going to hold the best looking male sunglow back to eventually breed to our female het albino, Cali. There are so many good looking ones, it is going to be a hard decision.

We're having a blast in Europe. We are currently in Florence, and are leaving for Rome in an hour. Two days in Rome then it's back home. :( Oh well, at least I get to see my new babies, and post updated pics for you all.
