Shed Preservation Question
Hey everyone! Superman had his first shed with us. It's really neat looking, with his markings on it, so we want to preserve it somehow. Do any of you know a good way?
Thanks!
Re: Shed Preservation Question
The one and only shed I kept I put in a plastic bag. If you leave it out it will dry out and break apart.

i kept my first shed in a plastic bag as well
Re: Shed Preservation Question
Yep, I kept mine in Ziploc bags.
Re: Shed Preservation Question
I dry them carefully (you can't leave a damp shed on a surface for long, or it will stick), then I roll them up and put them in plastic baggies.
It might be possible to laminate them.
Re: Shed Preservation Question
Poster board, tacks and hairspray... Get the thick posterboard with the styrofoam in it and tack the shed to it all stretched out and spray it down with the hairspray let it dry and spray it a few more times.
Re: Shed Preservation Question
Serious question here, and not meant to be disrepectful in any way, but why would you want to keep the snakes dry skin?

Thanks everyone! For now it will go into a plastic baggie until I can find someone cool to mount it on.

polyurethane would probably work better but hair spray might be cheaper
Re: Shed Preservation Question
You can use them for kids if you do any teaching with them. Little kids think it is the coolest thing ever. Plus perfect sheds are always awesome!!! ;)
I always take mine and straighten them out....then let them dry on a towel or on the carpet. Don't put them on a table or the top of the rack as while they dry they will stick to it. I then put them in a plastic bin so that they stay straight. I typically take mine into school and give them to different classes. The kids think it is so cool!!
