Best Day Ever!!!

So today was AWESOME! I went on my first field herping experience in the Sandhills of NC. It was a long day, but we saw some amazing stuff and I got some excellent pictures, which I will post once I get some sleep. But, to top the day off, I came home to find my first clutch of the year FINALLY on the ground! I thought this female was never going to lay. She must have been talking to my girl that went last year though, because she dropped her clutch on day 36 just like my clutch from last year. Eight gorgeous white eggs! I am so proud! Also, mom is my most docile animal. She didn't put up a fight when I took the eggs, but it was the first time I have ever heard her hiss!

Very cool! I can't wait till I have a little clutch of my own to incubate! I am mad jealous of everyone getting eggs, but next year will be my first year, so I have something to look forward to!

Congrats! I am really excited for you, I hope all goes well with the eggs and I'm sure the hatchling will look great! I'm really excited for myself because I am trying to get some of my females up to weight for next season, and if it isnt in time I dont mind waiting till the season after for some good mixes.

Thanks everyone! I couldn't be happier right now. The mom is my favorite animal. She has an awesome laid back personality, and I am really hoping she passes that (as well as her good looks) on to her children. Eight eggs is more than I ever really thought she would lay, since she was roughly 1700 grams before laying. Now she is down to 1000, so the clutch really took a lot out of her. I can't wait to get her back on feed and porking up again. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a male Hypo Pastave or Mojave, but really anything and everything from these two should be nice. I suppose I shall just have to suffer the embarrassment of such an ugly combo! ;)
