    My First Ball Python!
Meet Apollo! Named after the Moon God, which I thought was fitting.

Had the little guy (or girl?) from about a month now. Ate a few times for me (switched to F/T from live quickly) so I decided to take him out for a bit.

I also decided to do a quick photo shoot with my new camera (Canon XSI Rebel). Didnt get too many good pics because I'm still learning the camera + lens + extension tube workflow. This was more of a camera test but I thought I'd share anyway.

Let me know what you think!

    Thanks.

    PS- I want 1435987 more now.. :(

A very nice looking snake! :D I'd have to agree with you on the name; it suits 'him' perfectly ;) And ya got some pretty decent pics with that new camera! Practice, read/watch tutorials, and read that manual to become more acquainted with the camera and you'll be shooting like a maniac in no time! :D

Yes sir, born and raised and lived in NY my entire life. Well, except for a 5 year stint in Pittsburgh when I decided I needed a of change of pace and went to college hehe. Thanks for the Apollo compliment.

Oh I know.. And first I want to get a small rack system (looking for something that doesnt take much space for now and only has 2-5 bins (which would be fine for awhile). I still cant believe Ive become addicted to BP morphs after such a short time.

I already am having dreams of Axanthic Pinstripes and Axanthic Tri-strips (if even possible) dancing through my head :D

Hmm, you might be right. I was under the impression that Apollo was the Moon god until around the 3rd century when they took Helios (who is the sun god) and merged to two into "apollo helios" which strictly became the sun god with the sister taking over as moon goddess.

But I could have sworn pre-3rd century, Apollo was the moon god.

I am a HUGE mythology buff (but admittingly know alot more about Norse Mythology then geek/roman).

Ill have to do some research to see which of us is correct. Hopefully im right so I dont have to change his name.. I love Apollo :D

Jigsaws? Not familiar with those morphs yet. Google here I come :D

After I become a better snake keeper, I plan to breed a few and have a few in mind I plan to create.

    Axanthic Pinstripe
    Lemon Blast
    KingPins (i love those!)
    BEL's

Those are my first goals anyway.. lmao..

Thanks for the compliments. I am pretty familiar with the camera, but I am not familiar with working with extension tubes very much. It was my first real attempt at using them. Makes finding the focus range a pain in the butt since the depth of field is so large.

    Thanks guys! :D :snake:

Well damn, I think you maybe right.

What the hell am I gonna do now? Lmao... Name of a sun god for a snake that hates the sun? lmao...

Guys think I should stick with the name, or switch it to one of the following?

Jormungand (Serpent from Norse Mythology that is so large he circles the entire earth, chasing his own tail).

Nyx (Goddess of the Night, known for great power and beauty)

Artemis (Goddess of the Hunt and Wilderness)

Apollo (I believe he too was a god of Hunting.. So that could still work)

Yes, I know I am pretty dorkified with wanting the name to actually represent an element of ball pythons. Gives it some character tho i think lol...

    Thoughts?
