    What to do??
OK.. I got my ball python today right after school and when I get home the heat mat had fallen off.. It wouldn't adhese back onto the bin so I put my new snake into a spare 20 long for a temporary time.

What should I do to get the heat mat to stick to the bin? Hot Glue?

I tried taping it, it didn't work. It was sagging in the middle.

Foil tape.. Its a bit hard to find and a bit pricy but worth it. You can find it a hardware stores or big places like home depot or menards. It is conductive tape made of aluminum. It has an extremely good adhesive and lasts forever.

So just tape it on like it's normal tape?

Yep. You wont need much. Just a few inches long on each of the long sides and a couple inch piece on each of the short sides. I cant think of any other tape that will hold one on long term. The heat breaks down the adhesive on most tapes.

Also my mom is getting really freaked out about having a snake, do you think I could handle him for maybe 10 minutes just to show her he is calm? I already did for like 15 when I got home.. (I know your not supposed to for a week but I couldn't resist just looking at him for a little bit)

    Hi,

As long as you remember you're to blame if he doesn't eat.

Seriously though it's your snake so your decision in the end.

It might be an idea to ask her if she wants to see you handling it - if she is nervous she might prefer you wait until you have both got used to the idea.

yeah she wants to see it haha. I think I'll just show it to her for literally 2 minutes then leave it be for until next wednesday.. then try a feeding.

    Is this the stuff?

Should I transfer him back to the bin or leave him in the tank for a while? I think it might be a bit stressful for him to be put in a box, taken out and put in an enclosure, then 2 hours later put in a tank. Should I leave him be or is it better to put him back in the bin? BTW I covered all the sides of the tank and put a towel over the top so it's nice and dark/humid.

Temp is 92 and 84, humidity is 47-49%
