My first herp, a Dumpy Tree frog named Lela

Rescued from Petsmart, Lela was in a tiny 1 gal tank with 2 others her size ((she's a good 2 or 3 inches long)) with no water or anything to climb on. Right now I think she's a bit on the thin side but that'll change soon.

I never knew frogs had so much personality, when ever I hold up a cricket or mealworm she tilts her head to the side before running/leaping over to get it

Awwwww! Those guys are so cute! Just wait. You will looking for an albino cage mate for her before you know it.

Ahh you know what? Im thinking of the very light green ones and the blue ones. I had to double check because for some reason I thought they had pink eyes. There may not be albino whites yet. But look into the other colors. They are really nice looking.

I dont know much about those guys. The only tree frog I have ever had was a hyla versicolor.

The light blue and green ones are just them changing colour, Lela here has been turned bright green twice since I brought her home and she's also been a much deeper brown almost purple. I haven't noticed any enviromental differences that causes her to change...I think she does it just because she feels like it...

There is a blue phase whites but I believe they are not all blue. I think they can vary and the blue color gets better with age. I saw a conversation about them where it was explained that they are a different mutation but a seperate one that always produces some shade of blue or blue/green. Maybe look into those.

Maybe I should look into them a bit more, my reseach hasn't gone any further than how to take care of them and keep them happy. I don't plan on getting anymore frogs though I don't think...They're really great and I love Lela but I'm also really hands on when it comes to my pets and I know Dumpies can be handled more often but I still worry about it.

Very Cool. Always have been one of my favorite frogs. If I ever get around to it...I would love to setup a nice naturalistic vivarium to house one...or two. :)

They're really great ^_^ Lela is so calm but she's such a piggy, she'll accept crickets and mealworms right out of my hands.
