    Digital Thermometer
I have a tank with a uth so i know i need to go and get a thermostat for it.

Also, i only have some of those cheap stick on dial temp gauges and I was wondering, what is the best digital thermometer that you guys use?

OP was talking about a thermometer.

For single setups, the Accurite digital weather station is great. It's intended purpose is obviously not for reptiles but it works great. It can be found at the home depot, lowes, or walmart for around $12.

It measures hot side temp (external wired probe) and cool side temp (sensor in the unit) and humidity (sensor in the unit).

It is the only thermometer/hygrometer you will need for a single setup :)

How do you set it up in the tank? Just stick the unit on the glass on the cool side and run the probe under the substrate to the UTH?

You just need a digital probe with outside/inside readings and humidity gauge and a probe for measuring outside temps, thats what you put on your uth! Ebay has some good deals on thermostats and thermometers when I got mine!

I don't know about dyslexia, but I've always heard that, as you grow older, the memory is the second thing for you to lose. I just never can remember what the first thing is to go!

I use those! Are they meant to be in the tank? When I set it up, I thought the probe measured the humidity, but with the unit sitting outside the tank, it will constantly read in the 30% range unless I hit the max humidity button, then it will jump up. I'm sure this is user error, so maybe someone can give me suggestions to use and read it properly?

The unit measures indoor temp and humidity. The probe only measure outside temperature.

When you hit max humidity, that just shows you the max humidity that it read since the last time you hit the button.

So yeah, you have to put the whole unit in the tank..

What is odd, is that I have two of the same units right next to each other, and they both have different humidity and temp readings. For some reason I thought mine had a second probe for humidity. But, I will put the whole thing in the tank somehow.

How different are they? There might be a little variation in the accurateness of the units, but nothing too significant.
