The first two are our leopard tortoises, The second one Stoly(rescue), is a Russian tortoise. They live in separate enclosures. Stoly can live outside year round and hibernates underground but the leopards come in at night during the winter but now they are fine outside fulltime till around later Oct.

I love my torts too! They are the sweetest lil guys. They teach me patience. Sometimes we all need to just chill like a tortoise, lol.

Well if you ever make it to the west coast you can come over and they can be yours for the day.:)(and a few margueritas;))

Cant wait to hatch some torts one day. That will be the cuteness overload for sure:P

I just love the leopards . They have a great way about themselves. They are one of the first that made me fall in love with tortoises but they get a bit big so I opted for a hermans. Who I just adore:)

Great pics! How long have you had them? The pyramiding isn't as bad on the smallest one yet. I few tweaks on the husbandry and I bet you could stop it altogether for all of them (can't 'cure' pyramiding, but you can stop it from getting worse and it will be less noticeable as they grow).

About the pyramiding, one way to stop if is to drench the animals (hose the shells down) once a day in dry season. Hosing the shell seems to soften it up a bit so that it can "stretch" grow outwards.

We are aware of the pyrimiding which is now under control with soaking. Leopards do pyramid in the wild more than other torts and is believed to be not a critical with them as it is with other species. That said we do live in a dry desert enviroment so they get soaked daily during drier weather and we spoke to a breeder here on the west coast that reccomended moisturizing cream for their shells to help as well.

    Thanks for the comments:)
