Thinking of a pair of Honduran.
I was thinking of getting a pair of honduran.
A Hypo Male & A female Snow Honduran.
breed them, and get honduran het hypo, amel & anery.
and then raise them and breed the hets together.
its a long plan.
Anyone keeping Hypo & snow honduran here?
i even like to see amel & anery, also a ghost (anery + hypo) or a 3 gene hondo (amel + anery + hypo) no sure what's it call..
Re: Thinking of a pair of Honduran.
The three gene Honduran is called the "Pearl". They're fairly uncommon from what I've seen. A triple het project would be awesome though IMO, you'd produce a ton of cool stuff, and have a small chance at the Pearl too.
My Hondo collection post has good examples of some morphs, but no hypos or snows yet (hopefully they will produce this year). Although my female VP het hypo kind of looks like an actual hypo, only breeding results will tell.
Re: Thinking of a pair of Honduran.
Thanks for the reply.
You got an awesome collection going on there.. ;o)
How can you tell a hypo from a normal one.
Im offered an "Extreme Hypo Tangerine Vanishing Pattern Honduran".. quite a long name for a snake. Are there any markers or things to look for if its a hypo?
Re: Thinking of a pair of Honduran.
Hypos will have less black and/or look faded depending on the lineage of the animal. Some hypos have lighter black colors while others just have less black. My female 'het' has started to look a bit faded, and she has really reduced bands, which is making me think that whoever produced her misjudged her as a baby. I'll know for sure if half of her babies are hypo or 25% are hypo (she's bred to a het).
The Extreme lines have extremely faded black banding that looks grey or silver.

Re: Thinking of a pair of Honduran.
I keep a few hondurans. I have a pair of vanishing patterns, a pair of double het hypo/albinos, and an albino male a 2 het females. They are really amazing looking snakes, but I think I am not sure if I am going to keep them much longer. I could use the cage space and the rats they eat for more ball pythons.
