Yes...I finally got a JOB!! And not just any job. :D

After six months of searching, worrying, interviews that went nowhere, and wondering if we'd ever have money again outside of selling everything we own...our luck has finally turned. I start TOMORROW with training. :gj:

True, it's just customer service and entry level at that...but that's still a foot in the door and gonna be tons of fun because....

The job is at the place that started it all way back when I was 6 years old. The place that cemented my love of animals and wanting to work with them and teach others about them. The Woodland Park ZOO! :O

Now...if only that luck can extend to my partner, Ari, so he can get a job as well. :please::please:
If that happens, we can finally have a place of our own again! Not to mention it'll be easier for me to get to work. Right now, my available hours are limited by the buses and huge distance I have to travel. I can barely go in on weekends right now, and it'll take 3 hours to do so. :( But once we move, it would be a lot easier.

So, wish me luck with this (mostly that they'll keep me around despite the scheduling issues) and keep Ari in your thoughts and wishes! :D

It feels good doesn't it? I just got a job 2 days ago after searching for about 4-5 months. I feel on TOP OF THE WORLD! I bet you feel the same exact way. Not only can you stop stressing out, but you can now start saving away if possible for a rainy day.

Congratulations! And just remember, it sucks to be broke a lot more than it does to work. SO DON'T QUIT! lol

Cool. :) I'll be doing basic customer service - directing people at the gates, occasional cashier duty, running the carousel, and other service jobs as needed. It's a start, and the boss is awesome.

Happy you have finally got some work which is hard to find up here these days

:) It's not a drive...since I don't. It IS, however, a 2 hour commute via bus/train on weekdays. I will be getting a monthly pass for May that will save a LOT of money on transport, but I'm just not sure what to do for the rest of April. I have two weeks left where I'll be going in 5 days a week...and it's around $10 a day round trip to get there. And I only have enough money right now for the May pass. :( Things will pick up once I get my first paycheck, of course, but I'm nervous about the intervening time.

Ah well... I did have fun yesterday at my first day. :D

Congratulations! One of my dream jobs as a child was to work at the zoo as well. Hopefully you'll climb that ladder and work with the animals someday.
