Nice! I'll be getting some weaned rat pups and raise them up, been doing a lot of research on breeding:D

I had many more black and white at first but I have been holding back all the ones with the lightest colors. I now have Champagne hooded & self, Fawn H & S, Agouti H & S, Blue H & S (tho Im still not sure if they are russian or british blue) the 2 Siamese girls which Im trying to breed to make more, and my big blue/grey girl. The first pic I posted above is a champagne self but I just couldnt capture the color.

I love the lighter colors :)

It's funny how we breed for certain traits. Where yours is color, almost all of my rats are dumbos. I adore dumbos, so that's what I tend to hold back, and as a result, I went from all top ears to almost all dumbo's.

I agree! It is funny how we are breeding these things to be eaten, but we always hold back our favorites :P

I don't have a favorite yet, I've just been holding back colors/patterns I don't have as a breeders already. Although, I wish I had more colors and patterns to chose from :(

To the OP, your rats are super cute! I love fawns, and I would love a Siamese! I used to have a bunch of really cute rex babies, but I made the mistake of bringing home a pet store rat and pretty much lost my entire colony :( Thus, I have a boring colony.

Siamese rats often lose the dark color on their rump. Or butt. Just above the tail. Siamese rats look awesome as babies but some will turn all white as they mature. If a siamese keeps the dark points on its nose, ears and rump its considered a higher quality and likely to pass on the color holding to its babies. One of my siamese lost her rump color. The dark ears also faded. The other siamese is a year old and retained all her color points. Thats a good thing when trying to make more siamese.
