update.....

hey everyone, now i've been reading on breeding but i feel more comfortable hearing from you guys and gals. ok, so anne b. has been swollen for a while and i've continued to pair her following the advice from here but she looks like she's ready to burst, i mean she is seriously huge and last nite she refused one of my males. i cleaned out her tub and decided to take pics so you, the experienced breeder might continue to guide me in the right direction as always. please don't forget this is my first time ever trying to breed so pardon my inexpirience. thank you

P.S. forgot to mention the last time she ate was on 3/13

The way she looks she may have already ovulated(maybe not, but she looks good). Keep an eye out for a shed. BG doubts she'll eat again.

good signs are there........she has the glow,tail scrunched up,swell, and spine starting to stick out....I saw she is about to ovulate within a week or so...good luck

when i got home this morning i checked anne b. and she was HUGE, i mean bigger that the above pics, she looked like she swallowed a small football kinda thing, she really looked like she was going to burst, i felt bad. i kept checking up on her all day, i could not sleep. her swelling has gone down considerably but she's still swollen, so i'm really hoping that was her ovy. i'm really excited.

P.S. i could not find the SD card for the camera to take her pics from the morning.

Every day we search the racks for footballs. She is ovulating. When next she sheds (+- 15 days) it will be approx 30 days and you will have eggs. So get the bator up and running. You will be needing it soon.:D Congratulations :banana::banana:

In the photo, she was building, and what you are explaining sounds like Ovulation.

congrats jben. And about the thirty days after that shed ... dont let it stress you sometimes 30 can be 40, 45, 48 untill deposition. Patience is a virtue lol.

Congrats! I'm right behind you...my first ever ovulation was last Tuesday, so I'm waiting on the shed. It's so exciting!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!! I just had my first girl finish her post ovulation shed last night, 29 days to go, can't wait!! hahah sounds like you're not too far behind.

That would be cool to not know what to expect, I only paired mine with one male. Do you have your incubator set up and ready yet?

not yet, i have everything that i need, just have to put it together. i'm going with a DIY cooler type, how about you?
