    New Miami Phase
Well, I'm officially up to 20 snakes in just over a year of collecting. :O I got the two babies on Saturday, and then on Monday my friend gave me a yearling-ish Miami phase... in exchange for dinner and a drink, so who could pass up that deal?? I'm calling her Betty, since she's from Miami and has gray "hair" - like the queen of the Golden Girls, Betty White. ;)

Thanks... I thought that was a pretty good deal, especially since I only took him to a burger joint.

Perfect name for a Miami! She's definitely going to be quite the looker when she's an adult ;) Congrats! :gj:

Thanks for the comments! :) She seems pretty sweet and mellow, but randomly spazzes out once in a while - typical young corn behavior, I suppose. Speaking of which, how old do you think she is? She feels a bit larger than my June(ish) '09 corn, but I haven't weighed them for comparison yet. Oh, and should I feed a hopper for her next meal?

Awesome... I wonder if Ms. White would be honored or horrified that two snakes are named after her, LOL. :P

Turns out my Betty has quite the attitude, and strikes or rattles her tail when I get too close. I've been leaving her alone for the most part, but putting my hand against the tub frequently... seems to be helping, as she was more curious than frightened when I did it tonight. Once she seems more comfortable with my presence, I'll start handling her on a daily basis (5-10 minutes). Sound like a good plan? Good news is that she ate last week, striking at a live hopper the second I threw it in! :gj:

P.S. I weighed her before feeding, and she was around 62g... about the same size as my boy Scout (reverse okeetee), who was born last summer.
