I also got the job!!

I applied to Sears on Sunday, and had my first interview the very next day. Then today I got a call for my 2nd interview, and got hired right after it was over :gj:

My semester in college should be ending in about 3 weeks, so that means I will have plenty of time to put in hours and make that money!

I'm so happy right now. Being broke is not fun..

Looking forward to adding to my collection with the help of this job also :banana:

Yes it is. It's a super bummer. I'm sure weve all had that feeling of finally getting a job and just saying "phew.. now I can relax". It's a good feeling going back to work. Thank you! :P

Has anyone on this forum ever worked at either Sears or Lowes? Which one is better?

I am already officially hired at Sears, but if my interview goes well at Lowes should I take that job? I am assuming I could get percentages off melamine wood and other stuff I would need to build snake racks ! :gj:

Ive never personally worked at Lowes or Sears.... but I know a few people who work at both and the people who decided to work at Lowes didnt last long at all.... but the people that I know that work at Sears have a better and longer run... :gj:

I have actually heard similar stuff from people that live around here.

I will just go to the interview at Lowes and see what they are all about. But unless they blow me away and give me some easy job that pays big bucks I am leaning heavily towards Sears. lol

well i know Home Depot doesn't give discounts at all, so i doubt Lowe's would. i guess they don't want all their employees doing kitchen reno's at a discount! lol!

Both me, my brother, and sister-in-law have worked for Sears. I was working part time and I liked working there. I was stocking so I worked from 5am-9am M-T and 5am-3pm on Fridays. For the most part, there were only 6 of us there in the mornings before the store opened so we would have the stereos cranking...:headbang: The only reason I quit was because I had a better offer for a full time job... I have never worked at Lowe's. But, as you said, at Lowe's you would probably get some type of employee discount on melamine, wood, and AccuRites... :D In the end, it will depend on what your goals are as to which place will be better for you. Sorry I took so long to give you guys thanks, I completely forgot about this thread so I have not checked it out in awhile.

My first check is coming this Friday!

snagajob.com lists all of the people hiring in your area, you can even type in what kinds of jobs your interested in I think. I didn't use this site to get my job but I have a couple of friends who actually have gotten jobs from using this website.
