Oh NOO!!! 2 bad eggs in cinny clutch

Cinnamon X Cinnamon. 6 eggs laid on March 30th, 2010. I didn't candle them right away since they were all huge pure white eggs. Well tonight I check on everyone and get this disappointment :( I thought I had a 1 in 6 chance of getting that super but now my chances are much lower with only 4 fertile eggs :(

Pictures were taken with my Fugi finepix but I guess it doesnt do well in a dark room with only a bit of flashlight glow.

And they looked like nice perfect eggs too. Sorry, that must have been such a let down.

Good luck on the Super :gj:-- still have a good chance. I know many incubate anything that looks good. I candle before I even put them in the egg box. If they don't candle right -- they don't make it to the cooker. ;)

Don't give up on that last one just yet. BG sees some possible life with that one.

:( that stinks! Do snake eggs have viens the day they are laid? It can take a week with poultry eggs before you can see them :confused: I should have my first bps eggs this season, sorry I'm not very helpful :( GOOD LUCK! :gj:

Yep if they are fertile then the day they show up they have veins. ;)

The last one might be good. Sometimes they develope veins a couple weeks later. I know it has been 2 weeks, but what's the harm in leaving them in and watching them?

Awww sorry foschi, mega bummer. Especially cause cinnamons are so cooool. I never seen a super.

I think that last one has a chance.I would leave them in until you either smell a stinky :P or it hatches

It is a shame you have two bad ones, but in all honesty every one of the remaining eggs still has the same chance to be a super so don't give up hope yet.

We had two eggs this year that appeared to be infertile but I put them in the incubator with the others anyways. A week later they had tiny veins, and another week later they had big healthy veins.

I never bother candling. I put them in the incubator. If they cave in in the first week, they're bad. If they plump up, they're good. lol

I agree with folks that #2 looks suspicious, I would not throw that one. I see things that might be underdeveloped veins in it.

I agree with keeping them until they obviously go bad. Good luck on that super!

I didn't get rid of them yet. They are all still in the incubator. I candled them last night and just left them because #2 with the little red circle is stuck to another egg. I'll leave them be and see what happens. May the ball gods be on my side.

aww im sorry to hear that. I have a cinny x cinny this year as well. Hoping for that super cinny. Like everyone said leave them in there cause you never know. Best of luck with the eggs and I hope you get that super :gj:

How do the eggs look now?

Someone brought it up already, and I second it: Mathematically, your chances have not changed!
Each egg has a 1 in 6 chance (your numbers)
That means each egg still has a 1 in 6.
Each of the 'bad' eggs has a 1 in 6, which means they have 5 in 6 of not being super!

Math is on your side still! Good luck!~

To answer this question a bit late.. This clutch has a couple weeks left and those 2 infertile eggs.. Im going to have to take a picture so people can see what happens.. They are each well attached to another good egg and they are about as green and black as can be! I tried to ward off the mold but last week its just got overpowering. No harm to the good eggs though. It just looks funny. The babies are moving inside the eggs and I cant wait til they come out. So its gonna be 4 babies and all 4 are going to be supers.. Man wouldnt that be nice? Here they are on day 44!! LOL They look awful don't they? If I could have separated them from the good eggs I would have but they were stuck tight. The others look great though. I'm happy about that :D

Actually the smell was barely noticeable when I opened it to get that picture tonight. I was using the athletes foot powder to keep them from getting completely rotten so they are not as bad as they could be. Of course in 10 days when they should be due to pip I'm sure they will smell pretty bad lol.

1 in 4, but having 6 shots instead of 4 shots at a 1 in 4 does increases the chances you would get one. not mathematically per egg, but overall

Still 4 nice eggs! Praying for a super for you! Don't forget to post pics when they hatch!

now that would be cool. It is too bad that one didn't make it. I have had some that looked like that turn out ok.

I hope you get at least 2. Do you remember which ones she laid last. The last ones out seam to be the best.

They Hatched. I need to get pics. 1.2 Cinnys and 1.0 normal. No super but I'll try again this fall. One Cinny has a ringer.

congrats... sorry no super. I had my first 3 bad eggs this year also from a cinny clutch... still waiting on the survivors to hatch out.

ikno wat ur going thro... i got 1 bright egg in my clutch too...

At least you have two new female cinny's to increase your chances of hitting a super. :) Congrats!
