Silva taunts Maia to ask him to stand and trade or perhaps shoot. Silva taunting more than striking. Silva lands a kick and points and laugh. Maia misses a shot and Silva with more taunting. Silva lands a leg kick. He lands another. And a jab.

Round 3: Maia has blood running on his nose. Maia misses a big punch. Silva working on Maia's lead leg. Spinning back kick by Silva. Silva kicks, taunts, kicks, taunts. Maia may have glanced a right and Silva pretends to be hurt. Maia tries to get the fight to ground, but Silva evades. Not sure why Silva doesn't just finish the fight ... The crowd boos the end of the round.

Round 4: More feeling each other out. Crowd boos. Silva circling. Seems like Maia wants the finish more than Silva. Short exchange. Crowd rooting for Maia. More fooling around and a leg kick. Crowd now chanting "GSP," who is siting ringside. Maia is frustrated. Maia signals to Silva for action. Silva does the same. The thing is, Maia is the one pressing action. Round ends and crowd boos.

Round 5: Maia's left eye is swollen shut. Maia shoots and misses. Maia lands a right and another. Maia shoots and misses. Maia is throwing for the finish. Maia shoots and he's working for the finish. Maia is winning the crowd over. Maia is working hard for the finish while SIlva is just waiting for time to run out. There's still over three minutes left in the fight. Silva with a spinning back kick. The crowd is firmly behind Maia. Maia grabs hold of a single and he pulls guard. Silva slips out. Maia is opening his arms in frustration. The referee warns Silva that he will take a point away if he keeps running away.

10-9 for Maia.

I don't like Silva. I didn't think he was going to lose but I was hoping for some type of upset. Silva would have to drop weight to fight GSP and go up weight to fight in the 205 lb class...

Just the same old Silva fight. If he does not end it early but he wins the early rounds he just starts playing and dancing around. Before he had the title he finished fights now...

Glad to hear Edgar and Hughes won!!!...BJ had his time and I think Edgar will be a good MMA representative...

Definitely one of the most disappointing shows in a long time IMO...

BJ is my favorite fighter out right now and he loses...

Andersen Silva...where do I begin? It was funny as heck at first but then it got really crappy around the 3rd round...I was thinking the same thing as Rogan about the need for a yellow card type of rule at one point...

Dana White is HIGHLY upset with Anderson Silva and rightfully so. If you put in Dana White: Anderson Silva Doesn’t Deserve GSP Fight Anymore in Youtube you can see what he has to say about it...

no matter how you put it Silva is still the best fighter out there(in my opinion) and he has showed it the times he went up to 205 and won. and when BJ gets his rematch he will get the belt back

Bg wasn't paying much attention to the pre fight hype, and didn't see the fight. BG will say this though. If Dana thinks this is bad for the sport he is mistaken. This guy will be the most hated in the sport and people will salivate at the mouth hoping he loses. BG thinks Silva is great. BG has no problem with him showboating. It's up to the other fighter to stop him from doing it. Find him someone that can challenge him Dana. BG can promise you then and only then will you see the best outta Silva with leeetle showboating.

Some people are showboats....some aren't. You can all guess what kind of fighter BG is.:P:D Someone give Dana White BG's number. He'll get down to 185.......and run like hell when he sees Silva.:rofl::rofl: BG has got to admit. That dude is one awesome fighter. Give BG's boy Jones a couple years and he'll have something for Silva if they fight at a good weight for both of them.

ps. From all BG has seen though. It may have been a leeetle too much showboating, but he can't do it if the other guy is good enough to be in the same ring with him.

Silva truly is a magnificent fighter!!! I would never take anything away from him in his abilities to fight but I can't stand the show boating. He reminds me of Roy Jones Jr. Roy in his prime. Roy was an amazing fighter but I never really liked him either because of all his show boating and attitude. That is just their personalities I know but not what I like in a fighter. Now people can say "Well if there was someone good enough to shut him up he would stop". Very true, but it is still not the style fighter I like. Could be why I like Fedor. He is very stoic and emotionless. Just comes out and does what he needs to. Fedor is sadly just too concerned with money. Dana made a great comment, he said something to the effect of "If your a great fighter be a Mike Tyson and come out and finish your guy in like two minutes. Don't run around the ring the whole time like a jerk off".
