One hundred and twenty five dollars. One hundred and twenty five dollars. One hundred and twenty five dollars. Big Gunns is good at math, but even he has a hard time figuring out how small of a percentage that is from a few years ago. Pathetic really.

Congrats on your new Spider with a normal price. It is a nice one for sure.:gj:

Don't take this the wrong way. BG is happy for you. You'd just had to of spent a whole lot more on them to understand.:taz:

I think they'd be shocked to hear what I paid for my lemon pastel 4 years ago. :)

    Nice spider - congrats!

Nice! :gj: The price drop has not hit south Florida, yet. The least expensive Male spider in that size range was $200,$225, and $250. All were at the last reptile show last month. All were exceptional with nice high white sides and from 2 different vendors. I've called a couple ads for $150.00 males but they are gone by the time I call, hatchlings have been in the $125-150 range thou.:colbert2:

I'm jealous. I'm looking for a Spider right now and the cheapest I've been quoted is $250..... and that's for a '10 that hasn't even hatched yet.

I'm looking at a female, really high white 09 spider right now for 160...reputable breeder, no issues....seriously considering buying a rack and everything just to have room for such a crazy deal...

$125, now THAT is a killer deal. The lowest I've seen is $150, but people even sell them for more than that. Good luck with the new Spider, they are definitely awesome snakes!

I paid $325 for my male..

It's a lot like the LCD tv craze. Many people can't help themselves and want it now. So they pay the inflated price. And those who waited can get a sensible price on them. The only difference is that with the snakes you have opportunity for them to reproduce and give you some benefit in return. Both cost money to keep up (electricity for TV, rodents for snakes), and yes, the cost input for snakes is more!

It is also like sitting at work and comparing yourself to the person next to you and the salaries that differentiate the two of you...
Comparing what you paid x years ago compared to what others are paying today for a snake... you'll never be happy!

And remember, this is a poop economy, the good days are long gone and I suspect prices at shows this year will reflect it.

I'm totally happy for the original poster, that is a beautiful spider ball and a good price. Cool for the breeder/seller that funds are still coming in! Seriously, when you are a victim of this economy as I am, you must look at the bright side. :)

Re: My (soon to be) 09 spider male
Correction, I'm getting him for $150. I've been looking at this boy and another from another breeder (which was $225) and got the prices a little mixed up.

Anyways... it's good to know that he's a good deal at this price :) If anyone knows of a breeder I can get a female pastel (or maybe a yellow belly) from for around the same price, PLEASE let me know!

And of course, thanks for all of the compliments on the pretty boy! I'm picking him up Monday afternoon and couldn't be more excited!
