Now is this a fire or a normal?
    Hi,

Seeking more explanations than we got in the "is this an enchi" thread please.

    Edumacate meh!

The pictures have not been photoshopped in any way aside form shrinking and watermarking - but were taken by me and my point and pray camera.

Once again those who do not wish to play/ wait can check the filenames.

Again, a little post explaining why you voted as you did would be appreciated.

I think normal, when I got my little fire he was allready way lighter then that.

Looks like a very nice normal to me, I think Fire's have a more hypo looking pale yellow color to their golds. You could always pick up a confirmed fire and try to prove this guy out.

Unless the lighting is throwing it off for me, it just doesn't "pop" enough to look like a fire.

I voted normal. I expect a fire to have a lighter head. Maybe even some "blushing".

Do you think it's a fire? Definately a normal. Anything you would look for in a fire or to identify one, this snake has none of it.

    ^^

Tummys all messy and unless the pictures are just off, the color isnt right.

In one that young, the head spot should also be more obvious, IMO.

Belly looks real busy for a fire and color and pattern seems more normal than fire.

I have a normal with head markings like that, she's gorgeous & can't wait to breed her next year (not sure what to yet) but I also have 2 fires & there is no comparison-they are much brighter & also the head markings are much sharper & more definite.

Re: Now is this a fire or a normal?
I think it's a normal, as mine has almost an identical look. Little bit of flames in the first third of the length, little bit of blushing on the back, messy underside. But, I suspect it's just a cool looking normal. I keep meaning to post pics, but haven't. Now I'm waiting a couple of days for digestion before I take some pics.

Anyway, cool looking normal (from the tiny bit of researching I've been able to do)

AND, PLEASE, KEEP THESE THREADS COMING! I think these are great threads/training/learning. Thanks for it.

They're all normal until proven otherwise, having said that though I think it has strong possibilities.

Re: Now is this a fire or a normal?
I voted "I wish to heck I knew", but I do, however, think it's a normal. I just don't want to say one way or the other whether or not I'm definite. Pictures usually don't do the animal any justice, and personally don't feel you can really tell unless you are seeing the snake in person and next to another morph/normal for comparison. Of course my eyes aren't as trained as some of the other people on this forum.

I'll leave you with. Nice looking animal, lots of potential.

I am leaning towards normal. Not every head pattern is a Het Black Eyed Lucy head pattern.

http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/r...l/IMGP2361.jpg This should show a normal and a very nice Sulfur, which is a Het Black Eyed Lucy like a Fire is. This is a really nice example of a Sulfur. Notice the coloring, the flames, and the light coloring.

http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/r...l/IMGP2365.jpg While this pic shows the head pattern, this particular snake does not show a GREAT head pattern. They are usually more of a reverse arrow head that is light gold.

Re: Now is this a fire or a normal?
I am going to have to say normal. Compared to my Fires the color and patterns do not match up. The color should be much lighter and it should have more blushing going across the body.

As well know when wanting to purchase a Fire do your research so you know what you are looking for and not just take someones word.

Though I may not know much, looks like a normal to me, the color doesn't pop as much and there isnt much blushing like i would expect to see in a fire.
