    Jaguar Morph?
I have seen a couple of these and I am very impressed with this snake. But things I have seen about it is that the morph is not genetic? Also can it be mixed with a different morph, say a pastel or spider and mix?

I think the Jag isn't necessarily the same for all of those. I believe Rousis's animal is a Classic Jungle which is a random occurrence that is not inheritable.

If you're wanting to look into something genetic you will want to look into the Leopard Morph:

    Pastel Leopard @ T. Harbin's:

The Leopard is linked to the Piebald gene, that may be similar to what Brian Gundy has though I do not believe his specimen looks quite as nice as Tom's and Justin's.

I bought what I believed to be a jaguar when I first got into breeding. I was never able to fit him in my breeding plans and set aside a girl for him. I sold him last year and now wish I didn't. I have a couple extra girls that I could dinker with now.....oh well :( The breeder I got him from said he came from a pastel to normal breeding

Here is a pic of him, jaguar, normal????

My understanding is one trait of the jaguar is the clover pattern on top of the head. Justin's leapord does not have that head pattern. Look at the pattern on the head of my old snake, then go to Ralph Davis' site and look at his jaguars, they have the same clover head pattern. Ralph has not done much with this "morph" but probaly knows more about them than others.

Thanks. Yea I like the look of the snake and was just curious about it because no one talks about it or anything.
Fat boy did you ever breed any of the jags with another morph?

Well just got an email back from Ralph and he said this:

"I'm still working on it......but I do not believe it to be genetic."

Debra from Camlon Reptiles sent me an email saying she hasn't matched her pair she is selling but has heard that people who breed to a normals sometimes get a similar pattern but not all the time. And has heard that people who breed jags together have gotten jag babies.

I have actually heard breeders say they think it is from improper temps and egg stress during incubation. That would explain mine coming from a pastel/normal breeding.

Haha really, that is strange. If only it was genetic. A pastel form of this thing would be sick and rival the desert.
