New Imperial

I just couldn't walk away from this boy this past weekend at the new WARE show. He was produced by the fine folks at The Corn Pit. He's an Imperial, a hybrid cross of California Kingsnake x Pueblan Milksnake:

Hahahaha! I had no clue that you were even considering buying him! Apparently I bought him just in time, someone else had left to go get cash to buy him and came back about 30 minutes later! LOL

I don't like the idea of hybrids a whole lot, but I can't deny that some of them are just beautiful. Imperials are something I've been looking at for probably about a year now, and they are so beautiful and variable, they just might lure me over to the dark side!

PS - when do we get to see your other new pick-ups?

Nice pick up. I own a pair or corndurans(corn X honduran milk). I love them, kind of the best of both worlds. I have to post pictures once I update them.

Awesome Imperial. I have a female jungle (cal king x corn). I wanna get a milk snake cross soon or cross a milk into her. She has som crazy patterns so I wonder what milk snake influence would do!

Pueblacorns are also pretty fun ;) And Sinacorns :D But these Imperials...hooooweee!

Cracking Imperial, Robin :gj: We're starting to see a few of these in the UK now but they are vastly over-priced. Think I'll wait until the prices become a bit more realistic before I invest in one.

Really? I got him for the same price as a cali king hatchling here in the States. Although, I will say that looking at websites of breeders (like the one above that I linked to), I think I got him for a steal! :)

From what I've seen, the prices are kind of all over the place. I think it has a lot to do with how variable they are. Prettier ones are priced higher, I would guess, but I don't always agree that the higher priced ones are the prettiest ones.

At the moment, I see prices on KS that range from $55 for a female that looks pretty much like a Pueblan instead of a hybrid to $135 for a female that is mostly all black to $175 for a male that has a stripe down his back and is also het hypo. Personally, my favorite is a male with a stripe down his back that is $65.

I agree, MESOZOIC REPTILES has some pretty babies available on KS right now, including that boy you like, and their prices do vary depending on the snake. I've had their site bookmarked for some time, but happened to stumble across this boy at the show. :D
