    Stress!
How do you deal with it?

On a normal weekend I would veg out and do a few chores, hang out with friends, do some heavy drinking and watch cartoons.

But man this weekend was suuuuuper busy, some of which was good, some of which wasn't. And this week is gonna be even worse. Stress over trying to get my new BP's cage perfect and her not eating and be being a general worrier ARGH!

    My Stress Relievers:
    Cartoons
    Booze
    Booze with friends
    Booze with friends and DnD
    Booze and MW2
Booze and reading or watching reptiles.
Burgers w/ lots of cheese, mustard, and fries and well...you know.

So how about you? Any good stress relievers you use?

If I am really stressed out and it doesn't matter if I procrastinate doing work, I watch TV shows and movies.

I am quite good at watching show after show after show for hours on end. Most people get tired of watching multiple episodes of TV show in one sitting, but not me! Lol I should not be proud of this...

Also, I like to take my animals out to play with (namely the crested geckos since they are more fun).

I will also cook and clean for fun....yes for fun...

I'm the same way about rewatching shows thats why I am made for DVDs. I sometimes cook for fun to but cleaning usually cancels that out :P

I am looking forward to opera being acclimated, fed, and digested so I can handle her. That gives me something to look forward to.

One of my stress relievers used to be going for a drive with some good music. Which occasionally backfired of course, but generally worked.

When family allows Ill include Fishing, walking on the beach, or a hot shower followed by some Dean Koontz.

I like to ride around town on my bike and listen to music when I'm feeling especially stressed out or upset. At home I tend to space out and procrastinate, and drink...Kinda like what I'm doing right now. Drinking and listening to Bonobo, when I should be doing some major cleaning around my apartment. Darn these addicting snake forums...:P

I used to deal with stress by endlessly cruising around on the internet... But lately that's been boring.

I clean to burn some steam off. Having a small apartment with alot of things makes for a mess, even the day after cleaning. So I clean and organize until I get tired. I always feel MUCH better after everything is nice and clean.

If I had a treadmill at home I'd run... But I'm too lazy to drive to the gym during the day!

I've played 3rd, 3.5, and 4th. Saga edition Star wars to.

I'm kinda torn on 4th, but I think I like it. We play tons of other games to, great excuse to get togather and drink and roleplay and have fun.

I've been under a lot of stress lately too. Between relationship problems, taking up a second job, trying to find a place to live and maintaining school.
For stress I'll take out a reptile or sit and watch my frogs
in times of high stress I can't fall asleep at all, so I'll usually have a beer or two, or a glass of scotch.
Music is good for me too, but not as much as monica.

    Re: Stress!
hmmmm stress...hello how could I live without it....lol. I am a HUGE stresser...over anything and everything. Its ridiculous and you will find if you dont figure out now how to deal with it.....it will catch up to you when you are older. I am now on an anxiety medication....and actually it works pretty well. I still stress just not to the point where it is keeping me up all night or I am freaking out. Anyways...just wanted to tell you....figure out how to chill now...before you get older...as you age you don't handle the stress as well as you did when you were young.

I tried the whole meditate thing...nope. Read the books...nope.

I find if I clean like crazy, play with the animals, surf the internet at times or chill and watch movies....it helps. Of course a glass of wine doesnt hurt!

Working in the oil field offshore can realy take a toll on a person. Buy the time I get home im so behind on everything so getting caught up gets rough and knowing you only have a couple of days with the family makes you want to do nothing except hold them. So we fish every chance we get because its slow and boring just the way I like it. Sorry just saw a chance to vent. lol

    Re: Stress!
im putting stress and worry in the same category- when im worrying about something it stresses me out... being a pre vet student atm is really stressing me out... along with trying to find a job and thinking of what i actually wanna do with my life etc....

whats been helping me is cleaning/organizing (something i used to HATE doing as a kid), watching movies.... i can also watch tv shows for hours on end (esp CSI, Law and Order SVU, House etc... i just cant watch an episode that i've seen with in the last month... .idk im weird like that i guess) and finally playing with the kittehs. I love watching the cats get into mischef and just being goofy....i think i was a cat in a past life...

of course an alcoholic drink helps de stress too... every now and then tho... :D

I had a friend that did that. He was always under stress from being out in the gulf all the time and barely seeing friends and family. Great job but very lonely from what I understand. I hope you have lots of music, movies, an Ipod, and a great internet/text plan on your phone to keep your sanity :)

My stress relievers are my animals. If I am feeling stressed, I go and check all the animals and top up every single water bottle, spot clean, organize the animal room, etc. If I am feeling really stressed I get a nice shower and put on the most comfortable pjs I own and climb into bed with my cats. All four usually come running over to cuddle and we make a big kitty cuddle pile. :D

    Re: Stress!
Meditation*, video games, cooking (which I've recently got back into, and love it), walks (especially at night), and music. Not necessarily in that order, it depends what 'type' of stress I'm suffering from.

    * If anybody has ever been interested in learning to meditate, but never thought it was accessible enough to fit into your life, try this great book: 8 Minute Meditation
