A few more with the new camera.
Well, once again, Natalia was the ONLY one who would sit still, so she got her photo shoot.
I wont post more till I fully figure out all the settings on this camera and read the manual, but I was havin some fun :)

Nice pics! What kind of camera are you shooting with?
Quick tip that's worked for me...
When I get the light box set up and bring the snake in, I bring their hide and let them go into it. Once their all in, have some one pull the hide and start snapping shots before they have a chance to move. If you're lucky, you'll get a couple good shots in.

It's a FujiFilm FinePix S2700 HD...... but.......I just shot a video with it and when I uploaded it to the computer, not only was the quality absolutely HORRID, but there was this high pitched, whiney sound that was awful. I'm seriously debating taking it back. I'm not sure yet. I have it packed in the box ready to take it back, but for the money I spent, it has the best specs.
Debating exchanging it for the Nikon Coolpix L1100
Re: A few more with the new camera.
We're using the Nikon D5000 DSLR. It takes fantastic pics.
I'd check out the Nikon.

that last shot of her eye is wicked:gj:

That's quite a bit out of my price range. Even $300 is pushin it. But when I CAN afford it, I'll put some $$ into a DSLR.

Thank you! I love it too!
Re: A few more with the new camera.
i just purchased a nikon L110 and its the best choice i made over this older canon model. this camera just came out in february of 2010. i went to best buy to actually test it out fell in love with it then had an impulse buy LOL so i ended up leaving with it. later on that night i found the camera on amazon.com $60 cheaper!!! you better believe it i returned that camera the next day and went with amazon! but if you're looking for HD video and a nice optical lens then the nikon L110 is a good model to go with.
after reviewing the camera you have "FujiFilm FinePix S2700 HD", the nikon L110 is somewhat similar to that model its a 12MP camera, 15x optical zoom, 3" screen and uses 4 AA batteries. personally i prefer using the AA batteries as oppose to having the Li-Ion batt. packs.

Yeah when I compared them on best buy they looked quite similar. I'm going to best buy today to play with it and if I end up liking it I'm going to return the Fuji and buy the Nikon. I'm glad to know that you liked it, cuz I am really disappointed that my Fuji didn't work out so I want a new one like now haha.
Re: A few more with the new camera.
Sounds like the Nikon point and shoots have gone up in quality recently :). My friend had a Coolpix for a while and she loathed the thing. It wouldn't focus properly and ended up crappin' out on her after only having it for maybe a year. She's going with one of the Canon Powershots now and loves it :gj: It's good to hear that Nikon has worked out the bugs, though.
Shoot with a Sony alpha A350 DSLR myself. Tempted to switch to Canon for a full frame when I have the money.
Anyways! Natalia is a very beautiful snake ;) Looks like she knows how to model. Nice job with a first round of pics!

Thank you! Someone yesterday said she was ugly :( ... I don't care if she's browned out, I love her adventurous, yet calm, personality. And I love the mosaic type scaling she has on her neck right after her head. It varies between light and darker scales and I find it beautiful.
Anyway, I ended up taking back the FujiFilm and swapped it out for a Sony Cyber-shot H20. I'm not sure it's going to do AS good up close, but I think it'll do better all-round pictures, so I guess I can say I did a decent swap. A camera that only does ONE feature excellently and the rest of them crappy isn't worth it.
