    75-100 snakes found dead....
I saw today that a foreclosed house in Palm Bay, Fl (www.floridatoday.com) all or most of the snakes were in plastic containers. The story claims the owner was not a breeder. Very sad

I think you will find this guy is a hoarder. His illness was his snakes. They all have a weakness for something, and I guess his was snakes.

Always sad to fear of this kind of thing.

    :(
I really wonder what's going to happen to the survivors. The BPs in the video are just beautiful, and they don't even look like they're on the verge of death.

that is indeed very sad! Espeically since most of them were dead when they arrived. I didn't read anywhere that stated there were rattlesnakes though. That would of been a little scary opening up that tub. I do have to say though that the BP's looked pretty healthy in the video.

Well at least we all know though why there were dead mice in the freezer!!

All in all the article was presented in a very unbiased fashion, there was more concern for animal welfare than any underlying maliousness. Even the lingo they used, 'critter' is a more affectionate term for an animal, so all in all I think they did a good job of presenting the story.

According to Fox News, the homeowner is already in jail on other charges. Still, he should of let someone know that there were animals in the house...

    Quote:

Police in central Florida say more than 100 dead animals were found inside a house in foreclosure.

Among the carcasses that law enforcement officers have pulled from the foreclosed home, left vacant following the owner's arrest, are those of pythons, rattlesnakes, scorpions and mice found inside a freezer, reports Florida Today.

The homeowner is facing 122 counts of animal cruelty, according to the Associated Press. Authorities say a cleaning company contracted by the bank arrived at the home to get it ready to be sold. When they got there, workers found a large dead python in the entry and they immediately called for animal services.

Officers wearing gloves and masks removed the snakes from the home Tuesday morning, reported Florida Today. Some snakes are still alive but most have been dead for so long that their carcasses had liquefied in their holding containers.

"The house is in disrepair," said Yvonne Martinez, spokeswoman for Palm Bay police. Police said the homeowner was not a snake breeder. There's still furniture inside the home.

Neighbors said they had complained for nearly a year about the stench.

For more see the full story on Florida Today.

I misread that. He was not already in jail. Now I really don't like this guy...

"Among the carcasses that enforcement officers pulled from the home were those of pythons, rattle snakes, scorpions and mice found inside a freezer."

Are the frozen mice being added to the "carcasses of neglected animals", and being added towards his animal cruelty charges? lol.
