I'm the same, sticky note with all the information and a name. I can't remember a number as easily as I can remember a name.:snake:

The second I can't take the time to name them....I have too many snakes. I dunno, I feel kinda werid that snakes are less likely to get names than a dog or cat...obviously people do have them for breeding purposes, but they're still animals...obviously for the big breeders it becomes unfeasible at some point, but as i said, that point is too much for me!

Re: Any one else not name there snakes?
that sounds more like a machine part than a name 4 a snake, im sure it would make a nice name 4 a robot or somethin.

u could at least call him jim the 09 albino and then u get the info and a wee name 4 the guy.;)

1.1 yellow belly royal python (osiris & isis)
    0.1 pastel royal python (artemis)
1.1 hermans tortoise (dylan & gilmour)

Only the snakes I keep in my classroom have names. The ones at home have ID numbers.

cool, i like 2 give names and once i have more and start my planned breedin project will just keep a database on computer of the info against the names.

i kind of like to give them names coz 4 me they are pets first and using them 4 breeding will be fun and profitable but not as important as just enjoyin bein a royal python owner.

I don't care how many snakes I have, they will all have names. I plan on having them throughout their lives, so to have a snake around for 20+ years and have it not have a name just seems wrong, IMO. My snakes are a part of my family and I view them kinda like more kids...but only kinda.

Re: Any one else not name there snakes?
I don't name my snakes. I don't name anything. Every time people see my snakes or some of my one hundred some-odd fish, they always ask me what their names are. I only use "names" like, my female kingsnake, the large female ball python, or the common names for my fish. Even when I buy snakes from people who have already given them names, I'll forget the name in a week.
I am really not sure what draws people to have to name these types of animals that can not recognize a name.......I'll even admit that I think it is silly when people talk about their snake and just use the snakes name. Am I a bad person? (Do not answer that).

Re: Any one else not name there snakes?
I haven't bred yet, but I'll only name the snakes that I'll be adding to my private collection. Weather a snake I sell is named or not will be decided by the buyer :snake:

Re: Any one else not name there snakes?
I don't name mine partly becuase all the names I come up with seem lame and because I've got to many now I use a number and morph like spider1

if my snake could reconize it's name, I think mine would think his is name would be "Please-dont-bite-me".
