    What's your take on this?
I'm seeing a ton of head and neck blushing, What do you think?

If you are asking if it looks like a morph, I'm going to have to say its a normal. Nice light head though.

I would agree that the odds are it's a normal, but i've never seen a normal with a head/neck as faded as this one. Wasn't sure if it was some kind of marker or not. Thanks.

It is actually quite common for normals to have faded heads, at least from what I've seen. This is one of my normal girls. You should see her now. She's quite a few grams bigger than in that picture and her head and neck and very light. She's not even glowing yet but I had that kind of faded head on any of my other females, I'd swear she was glowing.

On mine or the OP's? I think they meant the snake's head. The snake has a lighter head, kind of like mine.

Most BPs have the lighter head. Like I said the OPs snake has no blushing, and is a normal.

There is definitely blushing down the head and neck. They are poor quality cell phone pics and I can't really help you see the blushing otherwise. The head/neck are very similarly colored to that of Jay Bunny's snake. Either way...I can live with it being a normal, as it isn't my snake. Just one that caught my eye at a local shop.

    Thanks for the input.

Cellphone picture or not that pic contains no blushing. Blushing is where the black areas look as if they have been rubbed with an eraser and the colors from underneath are showing through. In that picture there is none of that, a little on the head but that is typical. None shows on the neck, AT ALL. When it is on the back it is called blushing on the sides near the belly it is called flames.

If she caught your eye, why not get her? Obviously even if normal she made you double take, so get her and add her to your breeding stock. She can only enhance what you already have. :gj:

I know what blushing is. I didn't know I had to get all technical with the description and characteristics of the snake. I have a pastel that has some pretty nice blushing and the head and neck on this snake remind of my pastel (I know it's not a pastel...just an example). All i am saying is the head and sides of the neck are much lighter than what I have seen on normals in the past.

If it was a "her" I may have picked him up, but it's a male and I don't want to breed and of my girls to a normal, as they already have next seasons pairings planned for them.

Trying to upload a picture of the head markings on my pretty normal female-looks like it will have to be later. Oddly she seems to be getting cleaner & brighter as she grows.

I wasn't trying to make you get all technical, just trying to inform. Normals vary A LOT, so it may be on the lighter end of the spectrum.

Odds of finding a morph in a pet store, labeled as a normal, are 1 in a Million but a few people here have found 'new' morphs in pet stores, so you never know.

I hear ya. This one was also a "drop off", so I had no idea as to what it's background was. If the chances are 1 in a million...then there is always a small chance. I just wanted to check with those who know more than I, before I passed on it.

I would love to see it. I am actually going to get some real photo's of this snake tonight. Not that I expect the outcome to change, but I would like to show it more clearly.

Thank you. when she arrived I thought, yes, that's an absolutely classic normal. But she looks different now in colour terms-see what happens as she gets older, I'm hoping to breed her next year as she's an 07/08 (rescue, small when I got her) and now over 600g and packing away the rats-she's a darling.

In all honesty, that is about a textbook normal if I have ever seen one...
