    Can Enchi's have "dirty bellies"
Hey I just recieved my first enchi and it was not what I was expecting. Looks like a normal to me and its the only morph I have that doesn't have a clear belly. I will try to post a picture asap. But is it possible to have a dirty belly enchi?

Ya mine has way more black in her belly. She is banded and has a busy face but other that that she has more going on her belly than my one and only normal. I can't get pictures today but will try to find my camera.

Make sure to take a picture so we can make sure it's actually an Enchi.

Here are some shots of our male Enchi. He's from Pete Kahl. They might have turned out better but he has to poop .

The black will fade over time as they come into their nice coloration. They look nicer and nicer as they age. :)

Re: Can Enchi's have "dirty bellies"
    That's an enchi?
It looks like it has some of the enchi coloring on the sides but it just doesn't "look right" to me.
It looks to me to be just a nicely colored normal.

That was my first reaction when I saw her. I have only one normal in my collection and this one is hard to tell from her. Anyone else?

Re: Can Enchi's have "dirty bellies"
The back end of it looks like it could be an enchi, but the neck and head look 'off,' like SPJ said. I'd go with either it's a normal or a low end enchi. Where'd you get it from?

Thanks for all the help. I would rather not say who the breeder is until he has a chance to make this right.

Looks like a really low quality Enchi, Sorry...Most Enchis have spots on the side of the lips like Yours.

Didn't You see a pic of the animal before You purchased it?

Re: Can Enchi's have "dirty bellies"
That is what I'm saying, it is not the same snake as in the picture he send me. I was trying to give him the benefit of a doubt by asking what you guys thought not ever seeing an enchi in person. Out of my 20+ ball pythons this was the only dissappointing arrival.

    Your welcome! ;)

If its not the exact animal you purchased it then it doesn't matter if its a poor quality enchi or a normal, you need to return it for the correct one. Sometimes people make mistakes. As long as the breeder works with you and is helpful with the return and re-shipment of the correct animal then I wouldn't be too upset about it. What matters is that you get the correct snake and you are happy in the end.

Good luck and keep us updated.

In the meantime, make sure to keep all e-mail or hard copy records of this transaction in case you do need to make a thread on Fauna.

I have to agree. I t may not be a screamer, but it is an Enchi. The photo in post #9 also shows the green/yellow eyes.
