ohh what my poor snake went through =[
hi =] i'm new...i have a 2 yr old BP, and about 8 months ago she managed to escape... we looked EVERYWHEREE and we couldnt' find her, i thought she had escaped through a window or the door because we were int he process of moving, well , 2 days ago i was cleaning our heater closet, when i see her!! off course i freaked out, picked her up, but she looked really weak, and she was throwing up a clear fluid, i immediately called the vet, who made an appointment for the next day [[yesterday]] i took her in, they put her in fluid therapy cause she was dehydated, and they gave her antibiotics because she has an upper respiratory infection, she still doesn't wanna eat, so they gave her an appetite thingy, im hoping by next week she'll start eating again, and hopefully she'll make it =[

I can't even say if what's important is to feed her right now...Its been 8 months...but I'd wait till the experts chime in (hopefully sooner than later) about attempting to feed her...My guess is rehydrating her is priority, treatment and husbandry is next. Followed by feeding...Again that's my guess. My advice is wait till the experts put in their two cents...
Good Luck!
And keep us posted...

It must be so nice to see an old friend. Oh if she could only talk!
Glad you found her before it was too late. I don't know what to say about feeding, on the one hand, like any stressed out bp, you don't want to scare her with food, but on the other hand, if I hadn't eaten in that long even I'd eat down a mouse or two.
Best of luck.

That is sad. I hope she will make it. She has made it this far.

Don't expect her to eat until the respiratory infection is completely cleared up--it's extraordinarily unlikely that she will. It's best not to even try until then. If she NEEDS nutrition, have the vet tube-feed her some Carnivore Care.
