Maybe an allergic reaction? I'm pretty allergic to (what I believe) is their saliva. If I get bit by even a hatchling, I get pretty red in the area and it really swells and gets irritated; even if there's no blood drawn or even if its not a serious bite. But after a couple of days it goes back down.

I wouldn't advise you getting bit by a Hognose then:O

I got bit by a burmese....the wounds healed up very quickly and seemed to vanish completely...but then a day or two after they'd vanished, the area started to itch terribly, and little bumps came up in the exact same spots. It might have been bits of teeth working their way out, but I never actually saw anything erupt and come out like a splinter. After a couple days, the itching eased up and the bumps eventually went away. I didn't "do" anything with it except keep my hands clean (the bite was on my hand) and try not to mess with it.

It's either an infection or a few teeth popped off under the skin.

Neosporin on the affected area and waiting is all that needs to be done. If teeth are under there, they will work their way out and they are too tiny for you to dig out yourself. I've dug out corn snake teeth I got from big wild adults, and even those are pretty tough to see in the skin.

To the people making fun of being bit by a hatchling, infections aren't something to scoff at, because if they are ignored then they can become really nasty. Snake mouths aren't the cleanest of places.

Gotta be teeth. Like others have said. It's either teeth or you are allergic to corn snakes. If that's the case and you're allergic, you can send me your snakes and I'll take care of them. I've been bit a number of times and have had no reaction to the bite. ;)

I'd probably just apply some type of creme to reduce irritation, and leave it be. It should be fine in a day or two.

Of course you should ask. I benefited from you asking because now I will know in the future too. It is common for those who feel superior to others to make fun of them especially if it is the one area of life they know something about. Seriously though don't take things so seriously people are just having a little fun!

Agreed. When I read some more of the joking comments, I felt they were posted because the answer was pretty much already given, so they were trying to just have a bit of fun. Hey, even I was tempted to post "bite him back", but restrained when I saw somebody beat me to the punch ;).

But anyway, hopefully our advice helps, and the area on your hand will clear up soon :).

I agree, asking is a great idea. Well done. I ask things all the time and really do not think that simple questions are to be ignored in the slightest. Please, however, do not be upset that people on the site use good humour on a regular basis.
I'll go suck on a lemon now at your request. Very kind of you to say so.

when someone tells you to suck a lemon...it's because they're really worried about your low vitamin c intake and they don't want you to get scurvy. they're just acting tough ;) but in reality care about you.

If you would don't want to suck on a lemon you could always drink some lemonade it's not quite as potent but it will still help ;)

Well with all the lemonade going around, I wish I would've make a joking comment in the first place. Now I feel like I'm missing out ;)
