Looks like an IMG (Increased Melanin Gene) Spider

I don't think it's a paradox but I do think it displays a little IMG (irregular melanin gene). I'd buy it, I love this kind of crazy stuff.

is the IMG was a genetic?like co dom, dom,or recessive?

It has yet to be reproduced, so it is similar to paradox in that sense, but it is literally increased melanin.

i really interested with this spider, but first i need to know about this gene.is it recessive,co dom,or dom.or it was just abnormalities

I don't know what it is. But the spider gene is dominant, so I'm sure anything s/he produces would be interesting. I think it is gorgeous, I'd buy it!

Interesting, this isn't the first IMG spider I've seen. There was one a year or so ago at one of the smaller Orlando Repticon shows. I'd say go ahead and get it. Even if you can't reproduce the IMG, it's still a nice reduced pattern spider.

Re: please help is this paradox spider?
I believe there's evidence that IMG is genetic, but it's not simple. So, it's not recessive, co-dominant, or dominant, but something else. That makes it hard for anyone but a geneticist to predict, and harder to figure out a formula for producing them.

it's neither. Read what they are saying.

    it is Unproven

IMG is all but worthless in BG's expert opinion.

Increased Melanin Gene can be genetic. Just depends on your definition of IMG. I think of IMG as darker colored snakes. I am with Ed in that the Spider is more of an Irregular Melanin Gene.
I have a Yellow Belly Het Ghost that is super dark colored, what I would consider IMG. He passes the IMG down to his offspring. It is a line breed trait.

IMG is a way to say "we don't know why the hell this snake has so much black."

For those who say "Doesn't look paradox to me..."

Please look up the word paradox in the dictionary.
Since nobody can explain it... IT IS A PARADOX!

If IMG was a proven gene this spider would be advertised as a spider x img and priced pretty damn high since a proven IMG gene that caused random paradox like spotting would be worth a lot.

Also to the op I'd keep in mind that so far there isn't a replicable paradox gene so buying this spider would be as a collector animal/pet, or an experimental breeder but not likely to prove itself to be much more than a spider ball python.

Re: please help is this paradox spider?
By the way paradox means it's a contradiction of itself. There's no genetic reason it should have the increased black, but it does.

Basically it means that if you prove it out it wouldn't be a paradox, it would then be a new line of spider.

    Good luck.

Its not the coloration but the black smudging and speckling throughout the pattern that isn't normally there on a spider. :gj:

I may have come off as being an smarty in my post but that wasn't my intention.

If that spider was offered to me at the right price I'd buy it. I was just trying to clarify the word paradox for one, and stating that you probably shouldn't get your hopes too high on the genetics.

Re: please help is this paradox spider?
I spent 3 years breeding with the IMG gene.
Never was able to reproduce it.
I would say buy it if you like the looks but don't count on reproducing it.

Where did you find it for sale. It may help to understand more about if we knew it was a reputable breeder or not.
