Clown with no name... :(
Lol! My newest addition...have had him for about a week now and still can't come up with a good name for him! I've been trying to go off the whole "clown angle"...but I've also been trying to find something that would be appropriate for the little cross on his forehead (the main reason I got him...have been wanting a reduced pattern, male clown with unusual head pattern)! Any suggestions? :)
Anyway, here's a pic of the little guy! He's about 6 months old:

Re: Clown with no name... :(
Actually the marking on his head looks like an anchor to me. Like a boat anchor. I probably wouldnt be able to get that out of my head if I was trying to name him. Id end up giving him a mariner name :P
I would travel in so many directions with that too lol.. Lets see, there are boat names, captians, pirates etc.. They used the stars to help calculate where they were 100s of years ago so I would then think about constelations. The greeks, egyptions, chinese... Oi
Id never be able to think of a name either :weirdface

Re: Clown with no name... :(
With the black surrounding his eyes like that, the first thing that came to my mind was Harlequin. :D What a beautiful Clown. I really love this morph, wish I could afford one. Congrats on a lovely pickup, and good luck with naming him. ;)

Re: Clown with no name... :(
Very cool snake! Sorry, I don't have a name either.
Good Luck!

Re: Clown with no name... :(
Well.. Krusty of course! :)

Re: Clown with no name... :(
It looks like a skull more than anything to me, so I'm not going to be a help with clown based names.
I'd call him the Punisher, or maybe Blaze {ie.Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider}

Re: Clown with no name... :(

Re: Clown with no name... :(

Re: Clown with no name... :(
WOW, I am biased as clowns are my favorite morph, but that guy is perfect. I am sooo jealous. Who produced him/what line(s) is he from? I would have to name him something like "flawless" or "peerless" because he's just so perfect.
My strategy with males is to upgrade every year. Last year I upgraded my spider to a bee. I don't think I could ever let that guy go though, even if I produced pastel clowns, killer clowns, etc. He's definitely a keeper.

Re: Clown with no name... :(
Now that is a clown. Beautiful. No name suggestions. I just had to praise the asthetics. Get a super lesser and produce all lesser het clowns. Keep them all back and you might hit on the first time breeding them.

Re: Clown with no name... :(
All excellent suggestions!!! I never thought about Pennywise (one of my favorite Stephen King books)! Also like Harlequin...that's one that's been at the top of the list as I also have a Harley (inherited from my Dad) so his name could do double duty... :) Alex is also good (loved, loved, loved that movie)! Krusty would be pretty sweet, too! LOL!
Ace-you'll have to tell me more about the name "Adric!" I'm not familiar with that one! I like it, though!
Thanks for all of the complements! I just adore this little guy...a very aggressive feeder but still a sweetheart! He's exactly what I've been looking for for about a year now (it helps, too, that prices have come down a little)! I dealt with Andy at Proexotics...really great guy. I actually never thought to ask about the line...may have to shoot him another email!
As for plans for him...for the moment, they are for my own personal gain...LOL! My two favorite morphs are clowns and pieds...I have one of each so will probably shoot for a clown pied...but I've got plenty of time to think about it!

I hear ya! I can understand the draw of the variations on the clown...but to me, there's nothing prettier than the original thing...I just love their coloration/pattern!

I think you should name it Kuba

Re: Clown with no name... :(
I'd go for Conner or Murphy, one of the two brothers from The Boondock Saints.
In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti.
Cheers,

Re: Clown with no name... :(
Gorgeous clown!! :gj:
You could name him after one of the great Italian Renaissance artists, since his cross reminds me of their art... Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, etc. Yes, the Ninja Turtle names - LOL. :D Read this article for lots of ideas on that theme: http://arthistory.about.com/library/...en_artists.htm

Re: Clown with no name... :(
P.S. Of the other names that have been suggested, I think Pennywise suits him well... he's kind of creepy looking, but in a good way somehow.
-
Re: Clown with no name... :(
Wow, he is gorgeous! I would love to have one as nice as him. If he were mine I'd name him Crepsley.:)
-
Re: Clown with no name... :(
how about just plain "Jack" (as in jack napier a.k.a. the joker )
-
Re: Clown with no name... :(
Chaplin.
Not a clown, but known for his humor, hilarity, antics and making people laugh.
Whatever you decide to name him, holy COW he's a nice clown. I'd give and arm and a leg for a clown like that! Nice, nice addition :gj:

Re: Clown with no name... :(
Adric is a altered version of Adrian meaning "From the Latin Hadrianus meaning of Adria or of the Adriatic sea region." :)
I altered it more and named my albino boy Adrik. Or you could spell it Aidric. Emmit is a cute one too, though. Everyone's throwin out good names.

Re: Clown with no name... :(
I don't think I saw Pogo listed, John Wayne Gacy's clown name (always a good one, simple).
Or Billy, the puppet from the Saw movies. He looked like a clown.
Good luck, there were a lot of good suggestions!

Re: Clown with no name... :(
Pagliacci is the name I'll be giving a male clown when I get one. That's one of the few I've planned beforehand.
-
Re: Clown with no name... :(

Re: Clown with no name... :(
Hey all! Just wanted to thank y'all for the kind words and name suggestions! I've actually gone with my first instinct and named him Harlequin (Harley for short)! The more I get to know him, the more he just seems like a Harley. :) He's quickly become one of my favorites...a very curious guy, not much seems to phase him! Can't wait to see him all grown up!
Thanks, again!!

Yeah, I'd totally name mine after a serial killer! (yes, I'm being facetious! LOL)
Beautiful clown, and glad he's found a name! I named my het clown Oliver after Oliver Hardy.
