My Reptile Show @ school made the papers

Well we made a small paper...no big ones....and they did not mention the S373.....but still....I think it was a pretty good article. Except when they called the Burmese a Ball....lol :rolleyes: But at least it was positive press!!

I have to say it was so much work and I was exhausted afterwards....but it was a great time. I loved being able to turn kids onto all that with the added bonus of getting some good press for once.

I think it was really cool...not mentioned in the article though....that a mining company is the one that paid for the booklets. There were 460 colored booklets ...so it was quite expensive for them. But so weird that they were totally on board for it. Also Nerd gave me pics, varnyard gave me picks, Deb Stewart sent some pics in for this....and also Eventide helped out and brought in her animals and a vet tech for one of the leading reptile vets out here.

It would be so cool to go around and do this for every school!!! Teach em young!!

Talk to the school system and see if this is something they would like to do in all of the schools. This could be a new and exciting direction for your career.

That would be a great idea but in AZ none of the schools have the funding. I paid for this out of my pocket......except of course the printing.

Look for grants, both private, state and federal. I bet you could find the money if you looked hard enough. Contact the newpaper that did the article. See if they can't run another article explaining your wishes. The other place there may be money is through your Department of Natural Resources. One thing you may have to do, is to include the native reptiles in your area. Make it a public service oriented type service and I bet you find money.
