Hurt BP!!! need a lil info

Well i was checking on my BP cuz i really havent been giveing them much handling really last month or so and i go to check out my 3 1/2 foot long girl and well she hasnt been eating for like 3 weeks i thought it would be just off feed but i seen tonight that she had a pretty bad open cut type scrap thing like a circle all open and i went an put some neosporn on it cuz i kno thats what is good to help and i was just wondering if anyone have any more info what i should do?

A photo would be helpful!

If it is really bad a vet visit may be in order

uhm i can see if i can get a pic but i was just thinking that the vet would just say put something like neosporn on it but yea ill see if i can go get a pic

yea not sure what happend to it on the other 1 but any one got any info?

wow.....do you know how this happened? Keep a close eye on this for infection....check it everyday. If it starts to look crusty or like it is oozing puss around it.......you need to take her into the vet..

Was the snake just fed? Thats quite an odd buldge.

This definitely needs to be looked at by a vet. Go, NOW.

Have you been leaving rats in with this snake for long periods of time? It looks like it could very well be a rat bite and I see a number of other scars in that second picture.

Yeah, I agree, take her to the vet. It could already be infected.

well i got the snake from a bad pet store had no clue about BP and i help it sort of it was dehydrated and i got it better but yes i did leave a rat in for a period of time but i have a pic with the rat right next to that spot and the rat didnt do it a mouse did lol i left a mouse in over night and woke up and i seen it biteing the snake didnt really think it would do much so grabed it right away and fed it to my other lil guy but ima keep puting neosporn on it for a few days if i see it getting worse then i will sure go see a vet and thanks everyone who help out there

Ouch... I've heard mice are more aggresive than rats. Either way, you shouldn't be leaving a live prey item in the tank with your snake unattended.

yea i kno she just hasnt eatin in about 3-4 weeks and i didnt think a lil mouse could do that much damage so i left it in over night and thats what happend and i hope we all learned that never to do it again and my dad now knos what it can do cuz he kept saying just leave it in there it will eat it but hes 67 so hes getting old but yea

A little mouse can kill your snake if left overnight.

If the snake isn't eating, chances are there is something ELSE wrong with the husbandry. But it won't be eating until that is healed either now.

yea i figured that one lol im not gonna even attempt to feed with that now and dont gotta be harsh about it

Well, 3-4 weeks is not a long time to go off feed, so it's not too big of a deal.
Do you plan on taking him to the vet?

not atm no ima just put neosporn on it for a few days and see if it gets any better or worse and then ill take to vet if it gets worse

Make sure the neosporin doesn't have any pain reliever in it.

ok will do and i think what i would have to do is apply it 2x a day every day right?
