Depending who you bought her from she was probably never handled. In her eyes you are evil and trying to either hurt her or eat her.If you are gentle she will realize you are not going to hurt her and calm down :gj:

Re: My corn snake is evil!!!!
I tamed a 3 year old corn about 6 months ago.
Do you have everything set up to make sure she can feel comfortable? I assume you have enough snake experience to know how to get a cranky one out of the enclosure?
It'll take a little time, but I find that corns are pretty good about calming down, especially young ones.

i'm gonna continue to gently pet her, but i cant waste my whole life trying to tame a snake lol. if she doesnt calm down i'll try to sell her, she's just so beautiful, i wish she would behave

Are you nervous when you try to handle her? If so she is probably sensing this.If your calm and gentle she will eventually calm down :gj:

Re: My corn snake is evil!!!!
When you were told she would calm down with time, people meant more like a couple months, not a couple days.
You shouldn't even be trying to handle her at this point. Give her some time to get used to her new home.

Re: My corn snake is evil!!!!
I sure hope you don't give up too quick. It really is an easy process. I don't know if you are imagining 3 hours a day or something. I think it took me 30 minutes 4 times a week or so.
I am in the midst of taming a big female ball python that I just picked up!
If you like her that much, please don't give up on her, just ask our advice and we, (as a forum), will tell you whatever you want to know.

Snakes are not cats or dogs.So until she feels you are not a danger to her she will be flighty.I would give her a week of no touching her, just enter cage to change water. Then gently try to remove her and if she gets jumpy put her back. Then try a couple days later and if she gets flighty try to hold her softly. If you give her time she will calm down trust me :gj:

Re: My corn snake is evil!!!!
well since you just got her you need to leave her alone for 7 days to relax. Shes very stressed out and dont need you bothering her while she adjusts.

Re: My corn snake is evil!!!!
ok so should i feed her? i dont wanna feed in the tank with aspen bedding so i'll have to put her in a seperate feeding box

Re: My corn snake is evil!!!!
I agree with the others about leaving her alone. She is probably very stressed out from the change in environment so in her mind, not only is she in a new place she doesn't recognize, but some big warm thing keeps trying to get her. To her, you seem like a predator. Give her some time to get used to her surroundings. That is not only the interior of her cage, but the sights and sounds beyond it as well. Get yourself some thick leather gloves if you are worried about bites and handle her for only a few minutes at first. Handle her until she calms down. Once she calms down, put her back in her enclosure. Slowly increase the amount of time you handle her until she is familiar with the way you hold her.
I had to get my boa used to handling. It took me a while and she still flips out a bit when I first take her out but she's getting better. Don't give up on your corn. She may be pissy now but she will probably calm down if you are patient. (Though I have one corn snake that is an absolute butt! He tries to bite me every chance he gets no matter what I do.)
You can feed in the same enclosure with the aspen. I feed on aspen all the time and have never had a problem with it. If you want to feed outside the enclosure though, you could use a snake hook to move her from enclosure to feeding enclosure. (I have a ghetto snake hook. Its a hanger that I bent)

Dont feed her till after 1 week went buy of no handling. Feed in the cage as taking them out will cause stress and will usually result in refusing to eat.
they digest bone there for aspen in the mouth is nothing there for dont worry about it.
