Cleveland the BP goes to school!
I almost forgot about these pics -- something a little different, so I thought I would share. A couple of months ago I took my BP to my daughter's second grade class.
They were all very attentive as I told them a little bit about BP's and snakes in geteral. Then after that, I let all of them who were willing to hold him (I think everyone held him except for maybe one or two of the kids).
Here's the pics:
This one is of me while I am telling the class about him:

A few pics of the kids holding Cleveland:

And even the teacher gives it a try:

Thanks for looking!

Aw, that's awesome! I bet you scored big points with your daughter!
Re: Cleveland the BP goes to school!
Yeah you got alot of cool points for that.
Re: Cleveland the BP goes to school!
That is very nice of you to do. Just be cautious putting pictures of students on the net. The law requires us to have a "Media Release" form signed for each student before publishing any pictures of them.

That's awesome! I love the expressions on some of their faces!

Shoot, I didn't know that! How do I delete my original post???
Thanks,

Re: Cleveland the BP goes to school!
I did some research, and I can't find anything that says there is a problem with posting pics of minors. I had Dr. Del take this thread off while I did the research.
If anyone has issues with this, or if there is something I overlooked, then feel free to let a moderator know and remove the thread.
Thanks,
George

That's cool. Great job...:gj:
The kids who learn that snakes are fascinating and not scary today, are going to be the voters of tomorrow...

That's funny -- yeah, he tries, but doesn't seem to get the matching. I think some Geranimals would be the way to go for him.
If you are referring to my shirt, thanks! I picked it up at Target for $9.99!! :P

Re: Cleveland the BP goes to school!
awwwwwww....that is sooooooooo awesome!!! Isn't it fun to see their eyes and how excited they get about it. I LOVE IT!!!!!!
I just got done doing a huge school show....we had over 400 kids and at the end probably close to 45 reptiles. It went really really well....exhausting...but it was awesome!! I swear turning kids onto reptiles is so amazing...you just see them light up. That is of course until they go home and go "mommy....I wanna.....". And the parent is like...:O
lol:D

I should have clarified myself better in my post. When I mentioned the law, I meant the law in regards to the school system. I was just trying to protect a fellow herper.
Looks like the kids enjoyed it. I wish more people like you and I would try to change the public's opinion on snakes. My students freak out in August, but by the end of the year they are holding tongs while feeding them.

Re: Cleveland the BP goes to school!
I have to give you props. I think its very nice of you to educate young kids about bps or snakes in general. It helps make kids more comfortable about snakes than fearing them. Good job! :-)
