Excited in Missouri
I have found this community exremely helpful as I have been researching Ball Pythons for several months. My entire family is very excited as we are preparing for our newcoming additions via JKR.
I have been very involved with herps since childhood, but have only kept 4 snakes (1.1 GTP, central plains milk, rosey boa). After meeting my wife, who was not thrilled about my hobby, I sold and adopted my animals out to start a family. Of course I believe her pekinese breaking into my 3 1/2 foot Curviers Dwarf Caiman enclosure and My Cuban Rock almost taking her finger off pushed the decission. :(

I never stoped feild herping and 4 kids later, I have a spouse and children now crazy about herpetiles. 2 years ago my daughter begged for a pet snake. After saving up for a year, she settled on a Russian Tortoise.(my wife wasnt quite ready. This is what opened my wife up. My 2 oldest both started begging for snakes and after researching we felt Ball Pythons were the best fit for our family.
Since I am new to Ball Pythons I am happy this forum is here and glad to leave my "Lurker" status :)

We got a Pied female, Pastel het pied female, Black Pastel female, and a Black Pastel Het Pied male. Justin has really been incredibly helpful. The weather outlook has been bad here but it is giving me time to fab up the rack.

Thanks :) The females were so easy to frill (usually a backwards lightbulb did the trick). I could never get the pictured male to frill out. His red was way deeper than the female pictured. He was just puppy dog tame.

lol, Thanks! You have to realize it took me over 9 years to get my wife to this point. As soon as I got the "Go for it" from her to collect and breed again, I wanted to make it count. I love Jojo, my daughters russian tort, but I have been really missing the excitement I feel with caring for a nice collection. My wife is 100% on board now.
I find it ironic that when we were engaged, the talk of having children (after my cuban mistook her finger for a grape while hand feeding) was what gave her argument weight. And now, it was my two oldest who built the bridge for her that I never could.
Ball pythons really fit the bill to help me teach the kids care/breeding/and genetics. I'm picking up a normal as well to tame down.
