The pastel sable was UGLY when she hatched but believe it or not she is getting brighter. I know it doesn't look so in the pictures and by no means am I saying she is a pretty pastel but she is get brighter.

Thanks for posting the pics Joe. It's nice to see how the Sables and Sable combos look as they mature. I believe we will eventually hit on the right combination of genes to go with the Sables & Super Sables. :gj:

You may not like that pastel sable, so I'll be glad to take it off your hands! I honestly think that snake looks amazing.

Me too. I was saying in another thread how the pastel sables will be a stepping stone to other morphs. The pastel sable yellow belly is nice.......a nice step up from the pastel sable.

    Lol....thanks for the kind words.
It's not that I don't like it - I love this snake. I'm just saying compared to all the "pretty" crosses we have been seeing recently, this is somewhat of a clunker. A "dirty" morph. I am a big fan of dark, dirty looking morphs.
    Actually, I haven't run into a ball python that I didn't like;)
When you look at something like Colin's ghost-super-pastel-I-wonder-how-many-morphs-can-fit-in-one-snake-lesser and then look at a super sable, there is no comparison. One is undeniably pretty and the other isn't. But the dark super sable has beautiful iridescence to it and an evil look that I love. Just two of the different directions that we are taking ball pythons I guess.

Thanks for the pics Joe. The jungle pattern of the Pastel seems to be dominant over the Sable pattern, but at least I have an idea of waht to look for this year in my potential clutches.

Did you happen to get the Pastel YB Sable from Raul? I know he hatched some, and I knew he was getting rid of some of that stuff, but I never heard where it ended up.

Yep...when she hatched she really just looked like a muddy pastel but after a few meals you could tell there was sable in there.

Yes, the pastel yb sable came from Raul. It is turning into a very nice snake. I also acquired my founding sable male from Raul.

    Hey Tyree!
An albino sable will be sweet but I think an albino super sable will be off the charts. Considering I have had sables for a while, I got a late jump on this project and hope to make some sables het albino this year. The female albino is small (1600-1700 grams) and it is her first year breeding so I am not holding my breath. We'll see.:weirdface
