You though that was bad.....
Ya another pic from a person that doesn't know what they are doing......
We are in the process of trying to get these babies right now.

Re: You though that was bad.....
Haha i swear i saw that picture or one similar on CL earlier this week. I almost want to rescue these guys sometimes but i don't want any sick animals.
Re: You though that was bad.....
I've seen it many times. If they are all healthy, then obviously they arent doing any harm.
Re: You though that was bad.....
They look fine to me, ideal conditions? No. Are they in any danger? Not quite.
Re: You though that was bad.....
Instead of trying to take them, maybe you should educate the owners that each snake needs it's own tank?? I mean maybe they really didn't know, and then again there are others who just really don't care..
Re: You though that was bad.....
man that makes me feel bad lol.. but I will say love the middle one's pattern . the one on the rodent hide looks a little thin in the center ( might be the pic angle)
Re: You though that was bad.....
Theres a pet store in richmond va. that has 6 bp about 2 feet a peice and they are all in a 10 gallon tank with no hide just a small water bowl........
THATS SAD

no pet stores around me have hides.... then you can't see the animal and no one buys them. makes sense to me.
Re: You though that was bad.....
Well then maybe i needed to be educated because i thought they shouldn't be housed together. Because of stress/dominance/feedings. I have seen several people on here scolding people for housing their snakes together??
And i would educate the owner. But he wants them gone.
Re: You though that was bad.....
They look fine to me
They shouldnt be housed together but it doesnt look like there in danger.
Just educate the owner abit, not really rescueing is it, its just takeing them of his hands.

I have to say the same. It is not like people are borned with snake husbandry keeping wired into their brains. There are people out there that keep snakes and cant use a computer for the life of them, and will probably never find a website like BP.net to help them out and for them to learn.
I think that setup is pretty good considering in how bad out of shape some snakes are rescued.
However it is still awesome that you are trying to help them :gj:
Re: You though that was bad.....
if u get them feel free to mail one my way
Re: You though that was bad.....
atleast they are being fed and arent killing eachother
Re: You though that was bad.....
That really looks to me like someone is trying to flip them. Like, bought them somewhere cheap (or got them free) and is just trying to sell them now to make a profit. I have seen people do this before.
If you really want to "rescue" these animals, you won't pay for them.
Re: You though that was bad.....
to me not everyone knows exactly what the perfect or ideal set up is for a ball python. yes they may be three to a cage in that particular persons home, but in all honesty they dont seem like they are in desperate need of care. in fact they all look pretty healthy to me. they have two hides, water and im going to assume the person has a heat source of some sort. yes maybe the 20 gallon cage is small for 3 ball pyhton with an estimated length of 2ft each, but to me i think it is just frowned upon to house them together cause that has become the norm... i do believe that ball pyhtons can live a healthy and happy life co-mingling with other ball pyhtons. just because it isnt the way you would prefer to have your ball pythons living, does not mean it is the wrong way.
this is just my honest opinion. and i am in no way trying to say you are wrong or right in your assumptions. if the person is trying to get rid of the snakes and you want to give them a home, more power to you.!

Re: You though that was bad.....
I've seen worse, at least they look well fed.
Re: You though that was bad.....
I have to say, in that picture it doesn't look to me like those snakes actually live in that tank.
I don't know exactly how to describe it, but the whole thing looks kind of...fake, to me.
I think whoever this person is, almost certainly does not keep these snakes this way all the time, and only put them together for this photo, probably to take advantage of some soft-hearted soul who is going to hand over money to "rescue" them.
I would be very leery of this one. I can't put a finger on why, but this one I get a bad vibe from. Let us know what you decide.
