What's wrong with my snake?

I noticed a few days ago Louise's belly starting turning pink... She hasn't shed in a while so I didn't think anything of it since we recently moved her to a new enclosure which holds humidity way better.

Never seen her do this before though... Is there something wrong with her???
She hasn't pooped since her last feeding btw

Looks like she is just going into a shed (and usually a nice poop along with it). But just to make sure, what are the temperatures read with probe thermometer on the bottom of that cage (or a temp gun). It could also be that they are too hot and it's hurting/burning her belly.

What are you using to heat the tub? What kind of control device are you using to control the heating element?

The very bottom of the enclosure reads 90-93 degrees/80-85 degrees at night. For a heat source I use a regular heating pad that you or I would use, this is connected to a rheostat. These temps couldn't possibly be burning her could they?

no i think she is going in to shed. if you look at the small amount of white on her side it too is turning pink. that would not turn pink if it was a burn.

Okay I know that she is going to shed but I've never seen her lay like this before

its completely normal. you'll see them lay in some strange positions. snakes are quite the contortionists.

wow that is the pinkest belly I have seen. lol


Are you breeding her?

She was housed with a male for about a year until I just separated them... I'm worried she might be gravid :/

Honestly the way shes laying, plus the lumping you can kind of make out in her makes me believe she might actually be gravid and in her pre lay shed. I'm not a breeder, but the way her whole bottom 2/3rds of her body looks like there are some small round objects in her. Did you feed recently?

I feed her every other Sunday but lately she's been eating every Sunday

Well, that decreases the chances that she is gravid, as they usually stop eating. She might still be in the building stages, and since they can retain sperm, she could still end up gravid.

Probably going to shed, but I am no EXPERT!!!!

I assumed that she starting eating better because she is now being housed alone. It's been two weeks since her last meal on Sunday, and she started her shed cycle about 5 days ago.

She is going into shed. That is what my male looks like before he goes into shed. Sometimes the pink goes away before they shed and then the next day he shed. Its really odd. But why are you only feeding her every other sunday? My male that is about the same size eats once a week, a medium rat. What are you feeding her?

I bet its her shedding. LOL I always freak out when I see the pink Belly and I start thinking: BURNS...Oh nooooo......My BABY!!....Hes gonna DIE!!.. but then i check records and see that its time to shed. :D:D
